Hi all,

I've actually been here for 2 years and am going back to Sydney in March with my new German fiance! biggrin.gif We are planning to go for good and would like to move some bulky items there. Would anyone here know of a reliable and wallet-friendly moving company that could help? Even if it's from/to another country, maybe they could do Australia too. Also, if you have any idea of cost, could you post a rough estimate of what it would be to send the following please?

- large sofa (4ppl)
- dvd player
- speakers
- stereo
- 20 medium-sized (???) boxes
- 2 PCs
- a small keyboard
- bike

Time is not an issue, only reliability and cost of course.

Thanks very much in advance,
Rachel

If you have no luck finding recommendations specific to Düsseldorf, try reading the related topic: Shipping boxes to Australia from Frankfurt.

Thanks for the tip! Actually, since it's really only the sofa that's massive, I could probably get things to Frankfurt or anywhere else if needed. So if anyone at all can tell of their container experiences (as well as boxes, though I have checked out Deutsche Post before and have seen the 80 bucks for 20kg deal), then I would love to hear of them! And soon if that's ok please. sad.gif

Thanks again and to anyone else who has some ideas! I will check out Schenker and this Froesch in the meantime. It would help if these shipping companies would ever respond to online quote requests though! mad.gif

Have a nice weekend everyone smile.gif

Costs a hell of a lot to ship to Australia. If I were you, I would consider how much of the stuff you could sell and if it would be actually cheaper just to buy new stuff on the other end.
