Bloody hell - the huge tree in the US Consulate compound right across the road from me just bent 45 degrees - luckily away from my balcony windows, seriously worrying!!

It's a bit like that here Hams. I've got a huge tree in my garden and all the little branches are flying off so I've just moved my van and car. My wheelie bins have took flight on several occasions.

I blame Al Qaeda!
arshoo
not too well and had to make a short trip to the doc today, on way home the signs at hbf had the "orkan" information on the ticker below about possible delays etc.

home now and the wind is increasing quite a bit already!
hams
Nah man - I'm sure they checked me out when I registered 'Muslim'. laugh.gif
I've battened down the hatches on the roof terrace and just hope my plants survive.
Renia
Hams, you could grab hold of the branches and catapult yourself in! If you wanted to...
perdido
Its picked up good here now. On the fourth level watching and waiting.
LaureenC
Don't officially know what's going on with MVG or the S-bahns, but a co-worker who called a friend there said they are waiting about another hour before they can really decide to stop any lines from running. Because we have a lot of staff that needs to get home on the S-bahn or trains, our Personalabteilung getting the okay to us leave at 15h.

From my window I can see that the Trams are running, though.
hams
Renia - I think I may need to go to a few more yoga classes before my strength and agility reach their maximum potential for a stunt like that!
Sari
Damn, I am glad I am home...can you imagine the mass crowd of people trying to get home before the trains stopped!!!
gideon
OK Here we go...

Service S-Bahn:
Im Bereich der S4 zwischen Grafing und Ebersberg werden Busse eingesetzt. Dort liegen Bäume auf den Gleisen! (14:43)
kathie
Have to say, I'm still pretty unimpressed in Neubiberg at the moment...
Sari
I think tonight is the perfect time to make a fort out of the couch cushions and bed sheet...maybe some popcorn and a scary movie wink.gif
georgiagirl
Winds have picked up considerably in Munich city center. My agency has sent round the 'go home' email, so I'm off while I can still walk home without getting Mary Poppins'ed.
sarabyrd
Scogs says Unterschleissheim is pretty bad. I wanna go home!!! If all else fails I can get to Feldmoching but I don't exactly have hiking shoes on today ...
perdido
Regensburg aldtstadt is starting to look like a ghost twon.
BadDoggie
The Munich Airport is closed until further notice. Unlikely to re-open before 7:00a.m. Friday.

Well, I look forward to that LOL!

And in London storm news the new building on Leadenhall St/Lime St has just lost a huge pane of glass from the 18th floor, which fell into Lime St - not sure on casualties, but I'm now not allowed out of my office.

but I'm now not allowed out of my office.

That sucks...sorry sad.gif
don_riina
Somebody's home-made tomato greenshouse has just flown past my back garden. Cool.
I heard a warning about going outside with small dogs. Heh heh heh...

Everyone with proper TV should try and get home NOW. Ronnie is playing Ken Doherty in the masters. 2-0 up at the moment, 3rd frame has just started. Hope the wind don't shag my Beeb2 reception.
Renia
Jimbo, you are stuck in the office while over here all of us are heading home biggrin.gif, oh well...
Jimbo
Yeah, on the upside it means no more meetings as all of my clients are unable to reach me. The downside is that I'm trapped in the office with nothing to entertain me except you lot wink.gif
Renia
Are we all going to be sitting on TT this afternoon watching the storm unfold?

I loved the warning about not going outside with small dogs!

Wrap one of those aerobic weight things for your wrists around your wee dog...maybe tie it to something just incase the wind turns your dog into a kite wink.gif
Keydeck
Just hold it out the window and give it a squeeze.
Aelfwynn
But be sure that you're UPwind.
mere
i like severe weather. i hope that those of you who enjoy it too (and are in Munich) have a good time.
Inflatablewoman
It just got really really windy at Rosenheimplatz.

On a side note, I just went to the pharmacy to get some Zovirax, as I have a cold sore. Only, I didnt think they had zovirax in Germany, so I was trying to explain what a cold sore is, by slowing pronouncing it and point at the big manky growth I have near my nose. Only for the guy behind the counter to ask for his collegues help, they finally came to the answer and shouted it out loud a few times as they were pleased with their discovery that I have "herpes". People stopped and stared at me.. very embarrassing.

Ah, the important things in life...just don't risk your life!

mere - Severe weather conditions are well and good if you don't have any plans for the evening... unsure.gif

Renia - you know me too well. ph34r.gif

Oh dear! That would never happen in Britain, oder? Brits are far more aware of embarasment!
mere
Hams- yeah, i guess. well, not you get a nice night in!

was just outside flying my Kite, nearly hit the electricity line - it's tough, I'll have to halt my kite flying activities until things calm down.
Jimbo
Jesus - I very much doubt his widow will be able to afford that AND support his 4 kids. Ah well, that's life I suppose.
sarabyrd
Nah, the guy woulda killed Jimbo then.
@ Jimbo are you around St. James's Square?
Owain Glyndwr
first death in Germany has been reported near Stuttgart.
