Nope - I'm in the City - not far from Bishopsgate, or if you know your landmarks the Lloyds Building / The Gherkin.

all ok per the munich airport website too. colleague flying back here from switzerland later and says lufthansa and airport say all on the phone.
Phew, I was worried for a bit - although I guess if it gets worse in Munich I could be in trouble, I'm supposed to land at 11pm.
It looks to me like they are doubling up flights from LHR, so cancelling 1 and putting them on the next flight - so either the flights aren't full or they have bigger planes today. But not affecting anything after 5pm yet.

It just got really really windy at Rosenheimplatz.
On a side note, I just went to the pharmacy to get some Zovirax, as I have a cold sore. Only, I didnt think they had zovirax in Germany, so I was trying to explain what a cold sore is, by slowing pronouncing it and point at the big manky growth I have near my nose. Only for the guy behind the counter to ask for his collegues help, they finally came to the answer and shouted it out loud a few times as they were pleased with their discovery that I have "herpes". People stopped and stared at me.. very embarrassing.
That's hilarious. Way funnier than the

Weather.com has a fairly optimistic forecast for Munich. They are saying around 30 mph with occasional gusts of up to 55 mph...which is not bad at all.
Edit: I should add that I'm fairly accustomed to hurricanes since I'm from a beach and all. Power outages were norm for me growing up during the season. I don't get too worried about a storm until it hits the 100 mph mark. Also, I never knew this region suffered from hurricanes. How bizarre.

Well, that's a computer-generated forecast from yesterday. The German weather service (DWD) have issued a storm warning for Munich warning of gusts of up to 120km/h, higher in exposed areas.

seems that she was standing with her father on the balcony: the balcony door was blown open and hit the kid, she died from the injuries.

In diesem Bereich fahren Ersatzbusse. (16:04)
new s-bahn update. The child in milbertshofen by the way was killed by the balcony door being ripped of its hinges and hitting him while he was stood on the balcony. OK time to take this a little bit more seriously I guess.
