Why are you unhappy today?

So I just got done cleaning and packing this morning, and now I can clean and unpack! Moving sucks! I should really finally get rid of old stuff in my room at my parents' house, so I have space for the things I brought from HD!

thetagirl seriously, take your vacation! Modern transportation is leaps and bounds from where it used to be, but getting home from here still isn´t a last-minute hop skip and jump.

I called my mom to ask if November would be a good time for me to come home and visit and she started laughing. Last November I went home for a month to be there for her while she had her knee replaced. Turns out there is a staph infection in the new knee, and they have to take it out, put a spacer in for 6-8 weeks, then put another new knee in! And at some point, she is supposed to get the other knee done, too. My poor Mommy -- but the timing is good, cos I´ll be there right when she gets the new knee and I can stay at the hospital with her again and make sure she gets taken care of. Friggin´ American healthcare -- last time they strapped her leg into a device after the operation and it was really uncomfortable, so after a couple of days we asked what it was for -- turns out it was supposed to be stretching and then bending the knee -- but the thing was broken and no one noticed and I didn´t know that´s what it was supposed to do. This time, I can make sure it´s plugged in or whatever!

am pretty sure its just a passing unhappiness... you will be alive and kicking soon...

@ Ruthie, I totally agree with crap health care. My Ma was working in the Quality Department when she had her knee replaced and I sent her co-workers up to evaluate the nurses because I had the impression that they were doing a bad job, such as leaving her on a bed-pan for half an hour at a time. All the best for your Mom's OP, it really drains your strength.

Yeah I know, but tomorrow I have to pack again! Right now it''s all a bit too much packing and unpacking.

I have a 4 day hangover and havent slept more than 3 hours a night all week. The weekend just can't come quick enough- I need to sleep!

Thanks, sarabyrd, thetagirl and mere...I will be taking Mr. Snow Bunny with me, seeing as I will probably be gone a month...but this time I am not making the same mistake of staying at my mom^s bedside 24/7, not taking care of myself, and then getting mad that no one else is helping. Taking the dog for a walk is always a good excuse to catch some air...tho I guess I will have to get used to not being able to take him on the bus, into shops, etc...

Because I am going to start looking for a new apartment because my current/new one sucks.

I'm a bit unhappy because my dance lessons yesterday (learning Foxtrott) didn't quite run smothly I think due to the warm sticky weather and this morning I drove to work on my scooter like everyday, only this morning it pissed down and I mean really pissed down so that the water actually ran across the road. Luckily though I have my rainsuit on which kept me dry.

Pootle and I must have the same thing. And this thing has been lingering like a bad perfume, over two weeks now! It's down to mere coughing and sneezing, but I also did something to my neck which makes me unable to really turn my head and it hurts like the dickens when I cough, of course. I feel the cough coming on and I grab my head/neck to stabilize. Feeling frickin' feeble.
