Hi

I currently have Alice DSL and have cables running through the house, so I want to convert it to a wireless connection. My PC has a ASUS P5GD2 Premuim Motherboard which comes with WIFI-g. I'm heading down to Litec today, so I want to pick up a router today, but I don't have a foggy what I need.

Do I just need a router, if so, what should I get. AS my motherboard already has an antennae, I assume that is just a router i need. ?

What about encryption and security ? Is this automatically included with the router, or is this additional software ?

Any advice or useful links would be appreciated

Thanks !

yeah I would say you just need a router if your PC already has a receiver (as you suggest it has)

The real question is how you are currently wired. If it's a single PC wired to a DSL modem, then you need a broadband router with wireless access point. The router will need programming with your (Alice) ISP user data as it will now log into the internet rather than the PC that did it before. If you already have a wired, multi-port router with integrated DSL modem for more than one (wired) PC then you simply need a (cheaper) wireless access point cabled into one of the router outlets.
