I was mucking around with the wireless on my computer the other day and put in some stupid combination when it prompted for the wireless key for the internet.
Now I actually have the number and can“t figure out how to make it come back up with the prompt box instead of trying to connect with the other number I made up.
Any wizzy-do computer people know how to fix this?

Then you are ...
If you think you dont have one, check out the cable between the splitter and the router... thats usually a cat 5 cable

If using XP, I think you can build a new wireless connection (inside networking somewhere) and hten is should prompt you for the key again, or just delete the old one (IF YOU KNOW ENOUGH OF THE OLD PROPERTIES!)

When ever you change the network key, most routers prompt you o save the key... didnt you do that?

Do you mean you changed the key for your wireless card in windows, or the key of the wireless router? If you have changed the one on your wireless card (assuming Windows XP here) just go to control panel -> network connections -> right click on the wireless connection and choose properties, then go to the wireless networks tab, select the network in the lower list, click properties, and type the key in there. If you changed the server key, then as Grinner says, you'll need to connect with a cable to reset it.

Server key I think?
The list of wireless networks came up, and usually I just connect to the neighbours as they don't have a password
But that wasn't on the list at the time so I was bored and tryed to guess the password for hte net here, which I oviously got wrong, and now that I know it it won't let me type it in grrrr
g- Im on my bosses laptop not mine at the mo
