Tuesday drinks at a local bar or beer garden - Munich

Most Tuesdays some of the readers of TT go for drinks at one of Munich's local watering holes. The chosen bar or beer garden varies each week. Putting in a suggestion for Jaeger's near Hauptbahnhof for the coming Tuesday.

The place itself is a hostel, but the recently renovated bar area is pretty good and ideal for TTT. And you can't really argue with two Augustiner for €3 during happy hour.

It's not on the sign-up sheet just yet but I've asked Ed Bob to include it. If you're interested in coming along just post here on the thread for the time being so that we have an idea of numbers.

Sounds a mighty fine idea. Sadly I can't make it but I'm looking forward to hearing how this one goes.

If I'm feeling ok, I'm definitely up for Jaeger's.

I was there during renovations... it looked quite good then!

I am sure this will be a great place for a TT-T

Up for TTT, not so sure about Jaegers. Casting a vote for Der Pschorr but will go along with the crowd.

Am happy to go with whatever the majority decide, just fancied trying out something new and a little different. Will check back on the thread tomorrow morning and make the call so if you fancy coming out for a few drinks please make your voice heard as soon as possible either here on the thread or via the sign-up page.

Just as a personal opinion and based on previous experience, "Drei Groschen Keller" and "Wirtshaus zur Brez'n" (both voted for on the sign-up sheet), whilst cool bars in their own right are not really suitable for a group of more than about 6 due to lack of mingleability.

Last time I was in Drei Groschen Keller was for Sara's Birthday and once we'd eaten, we managed to mingle quite well at the barrels near the bar. While I agree that the various "alcoves" are kind of limiting, the bar area would be ok in my opinion.

Jaeger's is now available on the sign-up list so feel free to vote for that or whatever location you fancy.

True, Madgibson, I was there that night too, but on Tuesdays they have the Dreigroschenoper and so it tends to be busier than usual thus limiting standing space in that area.

I think we need a pub crawl tomorrow night. Fickle crowd

DGK - Nice place, but every time I've been the service has sucked massively, which is a shame cos it's a nice place. I don't think they could cope with a TTT.

ZurBrezn - My local. Awesome place, but can get cramped.

I'm going to vote for Jaegers though for the following reason -

You fancy herding the TTT crowd around a pub crawl? You'll have more luck herding cats.

According to their website the Dreigroschenoper is on Thurs. evenings......just for future reference. Looks like Jaeger's will win the vote anyhow - another new place for me.
