as the title says, anyone know of any good calorie counters? one with german foods would be great.

i am curious how many calories i eat a day. my interest got piqued a few days back while watching a galileo episode about two female colleagues who pretty much eat the same thing, but in the end one took in about 2,200 a day and the other nearly 4,000. obviously one was thinner than the other. ph34r.gif what surprised me the most was that two pieces of toast had less calories than a whole wheat oll with sunflower seeds. and i always thought i should rather eat a whole wheat roll over toast! wtf?

Saw that too and am also curious...ok, so some of the things were obvious, but I was also surprised at the huge difference!

Whole wheat is less processed and will take you longer to digest than white bread. However, yes, it will have more calories.

Please to be citing such hippie bullshit nonsense or to be apologizing for typing such crap.

woof.

Lieken Urkorn and its various brands of bread regarding calories - whole wheat through white flour only. The whole wheat/full roughage brands manage to stay below mixed brands, if only just. No claims, however, about digestive duration.

Please prove me wrong before calling bullshit BadDoggie. Your challenge, you do the googling.

Anyways, although not for German foods, www.fitday.com has a pretty comprehensive list of foods with their nutritional breakdown.

thanks showem. seems pretty easy to find the foods i eat. i'll give it a try...

EDIT: looks like i had 2000 calories yesterday. my salad dressing (oil & vingear) was a fat bomb! wow.

Fettrechner.de has a lot of the German brand name foods. Unfortunately it only gives the caloric value and fat grams, nothing else.

The most comprehensive list for American foods that I've found is My Calorie Counter. You have to register but it provides a lot of tools to help you track your weight and daily intake.
