Skiing day trip - sometime first week of January

I have a car, anyone interested in joining?

I'm off this week due to a canceled ski tour course. I'd like to go skiing in the surrounding area (using the lift to go uphill smile.gif ), e.g. Zugspitze, Wilder Kaiser, Ski Amade, but haven't found anybody to come with me so far.
I have a car but no snow chains, I hope the weather will calm down a bit the next days. Joining an organized bus trip would be interesting, too, but I don't want to wind up skiing on my own the whole day.
Anybody up for it?

I can't this week, but towards the end of the week its going to be excellent down there.. some big dumps for the next few days.. hopefully will help get this pathetic winter (if you can call it that) season back on track..

A friend and I are considering heading down somewhere towards the end of the week - most likely Friday. You're very welcome to join us as well if you like. I don't have chains either, but awd and snow tires, which has always been fine for me. I'm up for going anywhere, but would rather stay higher than Ski Amade, and awayer from Zugspitze. wink.gif

That would be great. Looking at that photo in your profile I don't really know if I should go with you though smile.gif
I thought about Wilder Kaiser or Ski Amade. Also: Autobus Oberbayern goes to Hochfügen on Thursday/Friday Autobus Oberbayern Ski.

Yeah, the Friday bus deal's a nice one, but it actually drops you off down in Kaltenbach (where you can then get to Hochfügen from). If the weather's pretty crap, we can consider the bus, otherwise, driving's a lot more fun and is more flexible. And oh yeah, be hard and be proud. wink.gif

Hochfügen has snow?
jayhay
We were there last Friday and it ranged from okay to crap across the resort. Hochfügen had slightly better than Hochzillertal of course. Even so, they've opened 90% of their slopes and Hochzillertal has a new 6 person lift with heated seats.

Here's to the hope that the snow forecast for Wednesday and Thursday will hit the Zillertal big style.

Snow down around Hochfügen and Zillertal should be pretty damn good by the end of the week..

Fingers crossed. In the meantime here's a couple of snaps from last week.
I actually skied over a patch of grass at one point, I shit you not.

I'll go skiing anywhere there is snow - also have a car!!

We went To Gerlos/Zillertal today. Conditions were pretty good though some more snow would do no harm of course. Thanks to Erik and Jay for taking me along there!
Guess it's gonna be hell this weekend when everybody heads towards the mountains...or maybe not since the weather report isn't that great.
Hals und Beinbruch to everybody planning to ski this weekend!

...and watch out for the Dutch, they've taken over. wink.gif

Here's a couple of shots from today. Look at those Dutch skiers go!
