Sounds great- see you all there
Toronto
Since I haven't been able to digest meat from Germany (i have unwantingly become a vegetarian), is it okay that I bring homemade sushi? (no raw fish in it though, I haven't been able to find any fresh sashimi quality fish either) Do people going to this BBQ like sushi? If so, let me know so I can prepare more.
Graham
love Sushi and all Japanese food. IT is just too expensive for my moth-ridden little wallet sad.gif

The first rule to learn about Toytown, Toronto, is that there are no rules. If you want to bring fish-free sushi to a TT BBQ, then you should. Obey the Nike advertising slogan wink.gif
DrivinWest
Well, looks like I'm probably gonna be there as well as Italy plans are falling through for me.

One thing we were lacking last time was a radio/CD player. Anybody have a decent battery powered setup?
Keydeck
Yeah DW, I've got one that'll do the job nicely. I'll put in the car with the other stuff.

I am presuming that I cannot drive directly to the BBQ spot, so I may need to ask for some assistance in carrying some stuff over there.
Blimeygirl
Please add Tom17 and I to the list. We usually bbq at Flaucher but this spot sounds cool.

We will bring a bbq along as well.

We are newbies to TT events (although not to the forum) so looking forward to meeting you all! biggrin.gif
Jimbo
@keydeck - no worries carrying stuff. If you're driving, will you be drinking? And Blimeygirl - will look forward to meeting you.
Keydeck
Sadly Jimbo I'll be making the ultimate sacrifice.
Jimbo
Are you insane? TT'ers are unbearable unless you're caned. Is there no way you could leave the car there and collect in early on Monday, or even have somebody collect it for you? I've driven on the right now, and I have Monday off if you see what I'm saying... tongue.gif
Keydeck
We'll see what happens. I'll speak to you before Sunday.
Graham
parking shouldn't be a problem on sunday in the Grasmeierstrasse, for those of you who are driving.
Graham
btw. can't seem to find it in the thread (am I blind? cool.gif ) but what time are we meating (misspelled on purpose to infer double entendre wink.gif )?
Jimbo
14:30 sticks in my mind, but I could be wrong...if you're gonna be there you could perhaps bring a touch rugby ball along - I'd be keen to give it a quick spin just to see what it's all about...
Graham
great minds think alike. I was planning to force you (loud crack of whip) to play touch before allowing any eating and drinking .
grtho
Remember druneknly discussing this last night so I might come long.

TT BBQ virgin and all that. blink.gif
Blimeygirl
We just bought a portable stereo/CD/MP3 player. So there shall be music!
leeza
Hi Guys,

Two questions from the meetup newbie:

1. How are you all about bring kids to stuff like this here grill party? Do many Toytowners have kids?

2. Is it cool to bring a German friend (who speaks English), or does that dilute it somehow, or...?

Thanks in advance.
MommyinDE
I had no problem when I brought my son with me to Andechs. He was perfect and everybody loved playing with him.
MommyinDE
the weather ain't looking so hot for tomorrow

that link didn't work like I wanted it to. Go to vorhersage then münchen.
Keydeck
Of course it's fine to bring kids. They're just little people after all and you can teach them great new stuff like throwing gravel and other things like that.

As for your German friends, very simply, the more the merrier.

And Leeza, there's a couple of other new people coming along (like Toronto), so you're not the only one smile.gif

The time is 2:30pm, instructions for how to get to the place are given earlier in the thread. I've already given my mobile number to quite a few people so don't be shy about asking if you want a contact.

Bring it on cool.gif
Hellcat
our plans for the weekend have changed, so looks like we'll be in town. hope it's not too late to say pao and i are coming...it'll be our first TT BBQ too! biggrin.gif
3 Lions
I plan on getting a crate of beer. Also bringing a football along.
Moko
Hope it isn't too late for me to join in the BBQ tomorrow? It'll be good to finally meet up with a few more TTers. See you there.
Keydeck
It's never too late for anyone to come along and you don't need to ask, just show up and have a good time.

I've just been out doing the essential shopping, beer & meat!
ParrotHead
Another late addition...

Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
margret
Hi,
just discovered your invitation.
Love to come.
A warning for the purists:
I am born *in* Germany, grew up some here, grew up some more in the U.S.
Have Irish-German parents.

Can't conceal the fact (and do not want to) that my passport is German.
Just explaining this in deatil 'cause I got a welcome flame when signing up recommending that I get right back out again.

Margret
MatchNL
i wanna go

but everything is closed on sundays... how am i supposed to get food to bring?
MommyinDE
that forecast that I posted is shite
DrivinWest
margaret, come along! There are always some natives, and plenty of non-native English speakers at Toytown events. "Munich's native English speaking crowd" isn' totally correct.

MatchNL. Don't sweat it. Last time we had too much food. I'm sure people will allow you their scraps smile.gif
Keydeck
MatchNL, you should have thought of it yesterday. Anyway, you can get basic stuff at any petrol station so you should be sorted. That or go to the shop at Hauptbahnhof.

Margret, as DW says, there's always a few natives around. my girlfriend for one is 100% German, although you wouldn't think it to talk to her. Anyway, see you later.

MommyinDE, yes it was smile.gif
MatchNL
shouldv thought if it yesterday?

i had just seen the post!

SOME people do otherthings than post all day on forums... like... party... and the sleep alot

biggrin.gif

But no one said i had to eat anything, ill just go for the scenery.
Keydeck
I have a kitten like you. He's brim full of excitement and really fcuking irritating as well.

See you at the BBQ wink.gif
MatchNL
Does wine count? I can bring some wine
Jimbo
Wine, last time I checked, counted...if you're a girl anyway...
Seriously - anythinhg is good, but as Keydeck said, get over to Hauptbahnhof or your local gas station and you'll find they sell food and booze too...you still have 1hr 30 before any of turn up at the BBQ spot.
And the latest weather forecast says 65% chance of precipitation, albeit not that heavy.
DrivinWest
MatchNL
that 1 hr and 30 min is my laundry right now in the dryer... Hauptbahnhof isnt happening for me anytime soon, heh...

ill just got for the entertainment, and perhaps provide a little, myself.

i WOULD bring wine 4 the girls, but its fecking expensive stuff and my roomate would shoot me.
Keydeck
Don't worry about food MatchNL, I'm sure there'll be plenty to share.
