Does this apply to anyone else here?

As it´s me birthday tomorrow, I thought I´d start this one. Was anyone else born on New Year´s Day or Christmas, or any other holiday?

As a kid it was a bit of drag having my birthday so soon after Christmas - not so many presents. I´ve got to the age where I can´t really get all that excited about it - Bloody hell, New Years Eve, tomorrow I´ll be a year older, bugger! Depressing, really. Being in Germany means celebrating Sylvester and getting double doused in Sekt at midnight, at least I don´t have to wait until morning for me prezzies, though.

I know three people with birthdays on New Years and one with a birthday on Christmas - all of them here in Munich. Poor things.

My birthday is on an "ordinary" day but since it's in the middle of summer that's a bit annoying too because most people are away on holiday.

Anyway, let me be the first one to wish you Happy Birthday and Happy New Year! smile.gif

My birthday falls on Easter occasionally.

My daughter has her birthday on 26th December but really she needs no sympathy about this - she thinks it's great. She got to open presents from my German friends on Christmas Eve, from family on Christmas Day, more from family on her birthday and then on Thursday a birthday party and more stuff to unwrap.

I'm not complaining either, she started off with a large list of friends she wanted to invite to her party but with people being away for Christmas it ended up as a manageable group of 9.

Same here Kay. Mine is in August and during that month everyone is on holiday.

My birthday falls on the WORST day of the year. It's a day that most men attempt to avoid at all costs...and a day when many single women without dates are truly reminded they lack a significant other. Yes...VALENTINE'S DAY. ph34r.gif

I always felt sorry for the kids with bdays near holidays... mine is mid June, and I always got cool presents at both Christmas and birthday because of the 6 months (almost) in between. My brother is early April, so often he had to share with Easter, not so tragic, but not as cool as June. tongue.gif

I was born on Easter Sunday. But I've only had 1 Easter Sunday birthday since then, when I was 11 or 12.

My mum's birthday is 23 December and my dad's is 1 January...

Mine's the 27th Dec, I feel your pain (or rather lack of birthday excitement). Usually my birthday consisted of travelling from one set or relatives for xmas to another set of relatives for NYE. Oh and of course, no "birthday" presents, just combined xmas/birthday.

My birthday sometimes falls on Family Day (one of these made up holidays celebrated only by Albertans for the sole purpose of having an extra day off). I always liked it because I'd get a day off on my birthday and could go skiing or have a nice celebration.

My birthday is on a public holiday in Canada (in fact it is Canada's birthday) - so I never had to work which was great BUT as a kid it sucked because it was right after school let out for the summer and all my friends would be at cottages or doing the summer vacation thing and could never make it to my parties dry.gif

I was born on Easter Monday and am giving consideration to celebrating it then rather than on the actual date. Presents don't come into it nowadays anyway ohmy.gif It would be rather good always to have the day off.

One of my best friends has his birthday on New Year's Eve - he hates it. But never lacks for a party, tho, heh?

I'm another Easter Bunny. I always felt a bit cheated as a kid when various aunties and the little old lady next door gave me Easter eggs for birthday presents. Still, better than having a birthday at Christmas though.

My sister also has that problem, hers is April 8th.

I know loads of other Capricorns: Two kids at work - 21 and 22 Dec., my wife´s brother 23rd Dec, a colleague 24th Dec, another kid at work - Christmas Day, yet another kid at work - 5th Jan, daughter of a friend 6th Jan, my wife and the sister of a friend (and Elvis!) 8th Jan and my dad, 16th Jan.

Another colleague has her birthday on 3rd October - German reunification.

I met my wife on 12th April 1996 - Easter Sunday that year.

That with June is a matter of opinion... biggrin.gif

Just to add that my daughter is not only very happy having her birthday on Dec 26th but also that I give her a half birthday pressie on my son's birthday in June as they are almost exactly 6 months apart.

I wouldn't recommend it for other reasons, going into hospital to give birth on a bank holiday is best avoided.

My birthday is a national holiday in the US (4th of July), my brother is on Feb 29, my uncle is on Christmas Eve (I still wonder if that's why he became a buddhist...), and my stepfather's birthday is tax day in the US. I also dated (at different times) guys whose birthdays were Valentine's Day and May Day (May 1st). And one year, I had a cousin born on Good Friday (when it was good friday) Oh, and my freshman roommate at college was born on All Souls Day and I had a friend whose birthday was April Fools Day.

Sense a trend in my life? laugh.gif

My Ma is on Australia Day, my oldest brother on St. Olaf's Day, my sister on Pearl Harbor Day and I am on Bastille Day. Every day is a holiday somewhere.
