Tsunami aims at Philippines after quake

Let's hope this is just early hype and not like last time.

The hype is over. Thread closed on the account of nothing happened. Yeah.

But the aftershocks have damaged three important submarine cables leading to massive disruptions in internet and telephone connections to and from Taiwan. Service was also interrupted in China, Hong Kong, Thailand and as far away as Singapore. Repairs may take two to three weeks, the back-up system is running on the two remaining cables.
