Enclosed areas suitable for letting dogs off leash

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anybody knows of some dog parks in Munich. I am looking for a park where I can let my dog off the line in an enclosed area. Unfortunately my dog like to chase birds, so he can not roam freely as I am afraid he will not return to me if called. If anybody knows of a place or two that would be great.

The Hirsch Garten has an enclosed pup place. II was also looking for one at first for our puppy, but was persuaded otherwise a few weeks ago. When Muffin (the pup) is in the English Garten in a circle of other dogs, her interest in chasing birds fades and is drawn more to the crowd around her. It took her about five minutes to get the concept, but life is way easier now...Have you tried playing with other dogs?

Thanks for the information. Yes, our puppy has played with other dogs. Also he used to go to puppy play hour (which recently ended) and will start obedient school next month. The problem is the breed of dog that we have. The shiba inu is very stubborn and tend to do what they want (very cat like). Sometimes our puppy is an angel and listens to us other times he completely ignores us. After speaking with several owners and the breeder of this dog it is not uncommom to not be able to let them off the line. I guess if we lived in the country I might reconsider. Thanks again for the informa
tion. I will definately check it out!

I don't have any dog parks in my area, but we've got lots of hundeverein (dog clubs) which have very large enclosed areas. The one I ended up joining has 10,000 sq. meters all fenced in with all sorts of fun equipment like ramps, steps, bridges and tunnels etc. For the cost of 85 euro per year for a family membership, we can take part in all classes and activities including off-leash play. And we can use the grounds even if nobody else is around. Pretty good deal for the price. You might want to explore the option of becoming a member.

Try the Mini Hofbrauhaus in the Englischer Garden... Munichs dog friendly Biergarden.

You can find them under http://hundefreundliches-muenchen.de/freunde.html

Love the place , food is great and reasonable...
