Check this baby out.

624 km in diameter, approx the size of the state of Arizona and 27Km high; about three times Mount Everest. The scarp rim around the base is several Km high itself.

From Wikipedia: Olympus Mons

QUOTE (Wikipedia)
a person standing on the surface of Mars would be unable to view the upper profile of the volcano even from a distance as the curvature of the planet and the volcano itself would obscure it. The only way to view the mountain properly is from orbit

Anyone want to go for a hike? It doesn't look too steep at least.

This is a digital impression of Olympus Mons in a Mars sunset. Interview with the 'artist' and more images here.

i think about it sometimes
sun shines in the rusty morning
once i had a good fly

Orbit is probably also the only place to properly observe JE's bum.
Lifeisabuffet
That's pretty awesome. I am refering to the volcano and not JE's butt.

I'd be up for that. What with gravity being less than on Earth and all. That would help with all the oxygen cylinders I'd have to cart up. And down. Any good curry houses at the base for an after-hike snack? Martian tikka masala, anyone?
Yeti
You'll be ages folding that map, Jeeves.
