Is Jan available for a move to the UK at the end of the month or Mid August?

Spoke with Jan today and have to honestly say found him a bit unreasonable and just not too interested. Must be summer holiday fever. In any case will be looking for similar "cheaper" services elsewhere.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi,
Yes, I have to agree that Jan can be rather unreasonable and appear not to give a damn if he gets business or not! That said, when you get him in a good mood and when he has time, he can be very helpful and polite. I've used him twice now because he's so cheap but once he pissed me off so much that I ended up going with another company.

Hi,
To the people moving from Munich to UK, perhaps we could share a trip... I have to move stuff from Dublin, IE to Munich in August.. How near is Your UK destination near Holyhead or Pembroke.
I got quotes of about 1100 from a Munich removals company. Maybe if hired a guy with VAN we could do it at a similar price, at least make it worthwhile for someone.
UNofrtunately I have little time off available and do not have a VAN myself. Perhaps there is someone interested in doing trip with a load each way.

Hi,

Hi Buffy,
I was wondering which company did you end up going with? I need to bring back some furniture from Ikea and am hoping to find a man/van transport that is reliable, won't cost too much and will deliver to the third floor! Would be good to know some options so I can get a couple of quotes.
I used the ikea delivery service for my stuff - go to the shop and buy what you want and take it to the desk and arrange the delivery. I think it cost 15% of total cost of goods to be delivered up to a maximum cost of 79EUR. I paid about 40EUR to have dining table and chairs, desk, office chair and shelves delivered as a guide. Could specify the day i wanted stuff to be delivered, was later given an hour time slot on that day and the stuff was carried up the stairs to my third floor apartment by the delivery guy. Very easy and stress free so worth checking out.

Jan moved some stuff for us this week-end and we found him really professional! We also had a nice chat with him on the way home. If we have something else to deliver, we'll most probably call him again.
When we went to Ikea though, we used the delivery service (the maximal fee is indeed 79 euros, but there is also a minimal one (29 euros if I am not mistaken)). It was also good - it was delivered two days afterward - but I think there is a better option: you can rent a truck at Ikea for 18 euros per hour. It can be a money saver, given you do not live too far and you know how to drive

Hi Mgaia,
Thanks for the post - I'm not overly comfortable driving on the other side of the road yeet, let alone in a van! Could you tell me how much Jan charged you for moving stuff? Did he do the move by himself or was there someone else helping carry stuff?
Thanks a a lot!

Yeah... Riding on the wrong side of the autobahn could be a problem :-D For the price, you can ask Jan or Fatima directly, I guess it depends on the stuff you want to move... I was moving a washing machine, which is quite heavy, and Jan was equipped with an appliance dolly. He had to move it from a basement to another and everything was done really quickly. He was doing the big part of the job, but for such heavy equipment he needed a hand (e.g. to secure the machine on the dolly while climbing the stairs) so my boyfriend was helping him. If I had been alone, I would have taken the option "Bring another man with you", but this is of course an extra fee - I really think you should give him a call and ask directly.

Just to say, Jan has helped me several times now and I've always been extremely satisfied with him! He's always been punctual (even if I haven't), friendly and helpful. And at that price, what more could you want!

I haven't hired Jan myself, however, he came 4 or 5 times to my apt as I was selling my things prior to my move and other TT users had hired him to cart my things away.
Every time he came he was punctual and friendly. My things left the apt in good shape and he was careful not to damage the apt doorways etc. which I appreciated.
He seemed to be providing a good service at what sounds like the cheapest price in town.

This past weekend I was able to arrange for Jan to meet me at IKEA and help to bring back some furniture to my flat in Schwabing. Jan was very friendly and helpful, his vehicle is quite large, he knows his way around...everything was great. I will also be having him help me hang some light fixtures, as I lack the tools/am not smart enough to do it on my own :-)
I highly recommend him to anyone in need of such help.

Jan's great. He helped move into my new place on Friday - we packed everything into his van, drove to the new flat and had everything unpacked again at the other end, all in less than 2 hours.
Jan you're a ledgend, thanks again!

I rented JAN's services with VAN last week to move a huge wardrobe. He was really helpful and easy going. We disassembled the wardrobe and moved to the new place without even a scratch. JAN made it simpler than my expectations. Highly recomended.

Thanks again! Already got his number =)

Well, I booked the lovely Jan for 11:15 this morning. He didn't turn up. He didn't answer his phone. He didn't call me. However, when I phoned using a number he didn't have in his phone, he answered. He told me sleepily that he'd forgotten to write down the appointment. Later in the afternoon he called my number but had obviously forgotten who I was. I reminded him and this time he told me he'd confused the dates. He then offered to do the job free (which was OK) but by that time I'd hired another more reliable vaman. Does anyone know a nice term to describe Jan since I don't want to use the copyrighted Irish term which springs to mind. I lost three hours of valuable time today. I am semi-furious.

Me and a friend staying with me asked Jan to come around and help move her stuff into her new apartment. He was punctual and very friendly, chatting most of the way.
His rates are not too high although you should be aware that there is a surcharge if he has to drive to you and you stay in the outskirts.
A positive experience overall.

we booked his van to move a wardrobe from Schwabing to Giesing. We started 7:00pm and finished 7:30pm
He is friendly guy and arrived on time.
Just be aware on top of 25 euro per hour, he charged another 10 euro for something he mentioned need to drive back.
so there is 10 euro surcharge, which make 35 euros per hour if takes within one hour.

Hello!
Please remember that he said about the 10 euros extras BEFORE he comes to you. So, you knew about it.!!!

I think that is realistic and still cheap if you want him to help move things, also given the raising gas prices and the time to drive to the outskirts.
By the way, happy birthday to Jan
