Some recommendations

I didn't see "Turkish" listed as a category of restaurant, but there must be some good ones in Berlin (I'm guessing in Kreuzberg). Anyone got any recommendations? (I'm entertaining some visitors tonight, so I'm looking for some advice quick.) Thanks!

Don't know of any myself I'm afraid, but a quick search on berlin.de came up with these...

There's a nice Turkish restaurant in the Adalbertstrasse. It's on the right-hand side coming from Kottbusser Tor just before Oranienstrasse. I can't remember what it's called, but it's easy to find. There's also a nice Persian restaurant (called "Safran", I think) on the left-hand side if you keep on and turn left onto the Oranienstrasse. Bon appetit!

We ended up going to a Hasir which was around where you describe, although maybe not so far towards Orianienstrasse. Anyway, the food was very tasty and the service was decent.

That's the one I was talking about, yup. Gets me hungry just thinking about it.

make sure to get a serving of "DÖNER" at any turkisch schnellimbiss - how do you say this in english - ehm - fastfood place. they are so cheap and sooo good. they range from 1 euro in kreuzberg or when a place opens, as a special offer, to about 2,50 euros. get them with garlic sauce (knoblauch) and everything. elswhere in germany they are about 4(!) euros. also try "turkish pizza" and if youre a meat lover get them WITH döner meat and salad, they will charge about 2,50 to 3 euros for that. i say: when you are in berlin, you definitly MUST try this!! its THE berlin fastfood. the original by the way was the currywurst but since berlin is the 1st german city to be taken over by the turkish community its döner now. still you should try currywurst at a german schnellimbiss, its interesting an yummy too.
