Um...I have a newly empty bottle of laundry soap. It is disposable, and sort of tall...so therefore it would be recognizable on the table. It would be a lovely centerpiece, I think. Too strange?

Did I miss anyone? Yes on the laundry soap bottle?
I managed to sleep until 1pm today (I'm going to blame it on jet lag versus just being reallly lazy) so I am up for a good night!

Jess, laundry soap bottle as centrepiece won't go unnoticed so it sounds perfect
but I do have a small stuffed animal actually, a dog (to be really precise, a tiny fox terrier more or less like the one in the top picture
here) so if you like I can bring that along!

thanks for the warning! (and thanks Jess for the mobile number)
the entrance across the Sony is the main entrance anyway, I think, well at least from the ground, so hopefully even the people who signed up but haven't kept checking the thread and missed this update will still get there...
edit: it's
this one, where the green arrow points, the rounded glass wall at the bottom, you can see the sony center at the top

Well thanks guys, I had a really great evening with "a bunch of strangers you just met on the internet".
I feel a little sad that my plans changed & I'm shipping out earlier than I first thought. But if I'm still here Thursday I may see some of you again. Does anyone have any strong feelings on what I "must see" before I depart?

Jan 1 2007, 2:34 am
Hey Alan!
Glad you could join us - despite the little veering off course with the plans.
My Ideas for Must see:
1) Hit the Pergamon Museum on Museum Island - It's impressive and they've moved some serious things into there - the main gates to babylon, an ENTIRE greek temple, and a roman gate and speaking platform. It's def worth the euros to go in - just plan on spending more than 2 or 3 hours.
2) Hop the train and then the bus or tram down to Potsdam. Potsdam features the dutch section (which is completely restored and in lovely shape) and Sansoussi (the king's retreat - literally - without worry). It's modelled after Versailles - complete with guilding and hall of mirrors. The grounds are magnificent also, and as you wander them, don't forget to pop into the Chinesish Tea house for some Tea.
To the Rest of you - thanks for spending New Years with a strange girl from the States - pictures/vids shortly.

Good morning all,
Got an entire beer dumped into my purse and now camera and phone do not seem to be doing well. As in neither one seems to be turning on. Though happily, these are my only New Year's casualties. Nice to meet everyone anyway.

Yes it was a bit crazy. and some how I managed to lose everyone from Toytown. had a fantastic night anyhow with random new friends.
I believe there was a couple people with suggestions for pubs for this thursday. someone needs to start the 'thursday night drinks' thread.
