Christmas meetups and partying

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum as well as new to Berlin (F - 26). I can't find a cheap fly home for Christmas and the few people I know here will all be gone. It's the first Christmas I can't be home and I don't want to spend it alone. So I thought maybe some people here are in the same situation? How about partying together? Suggestions anyone?

I'm down for both days. Since I can't be with my fam I'd rather be with people I can relate to.

I think NY's at the Brandenburg Gate would be pretty cool, but probably cold...theres also a New Years Eve Pubcrawl that is supposed to be amazing... any thoughts?

Just looked in Zitty magazine and there are definetely some nice christmas parties going on. Maybe we should make a sign-up sheet, so we see if we can get a small group together. Does anyone know how to do this? Maybe Jess you could make one for New Years Eve?

Hey great idea - I'll be on the Christmas list !

We could play "Secret Santa" , which is called "Wichteln" in Germany. This means, that each person brings a little present and we just put them all in a big box and pick numbers... (I guess it should be a present we can take into a club) ?!

Still being a 'newbie' I don't know how to make a sign-up list! I am thinking that this mysterious character 'Editor Bob' may swoop in and offer some advice for this dilemma...

I am also new to this forum and somehow stuck in Berlin for Xmas. It would certainly be great to meet some other native English speakers for a change. If any sort of Xmas meeting/drinks/clubnight does materialise, then I would deffo be down!

Would be great if everyone interested in meeting could sign up, so we see how many people want to come. And then maybe someone can make some sugesstions on where to meet? I thougt maybe around 8 or 9 pm in some pub or bar and then we could go to a club from there?

Excellent. Which days did you all have in mind?I plan to go out each and every night from Friday onwards, and will attempt to drag a few of the "left-behinds" I know along so if anywone wants to join us for some trouble, then do get in touch and come along!

I have no idea what the music/club preferences of the people on the board are, but I can recommend a few good electronic music parties that are going on around Berlin . But, I am totally open to anything really, and something differnent on some of the nights would certainly be good fun!

We thought about meeting Sunday, 24th, but why not the other days too... Since I'm allready stuck here for Christmas I might as well party every night ... Only yesterday evening i had to work as well as today, so that propably doesn't work.
Concerning music, I don't know about the others on here. I personally am not the biggest electronic fan, but can live with it.
So I know there are not many of us, but maybe Derjakater has an idea for a meeting place?

Hi Guys - don't know what was decided for tonight - the 23rd, but one of my friends (American) is in a band with a bunch of others playing tonight at something called

There's a bunch of bands, and his is on around 10 ish - Damage Done By Worms. I guess it's a Rocabilly/Psychobilly/70's and 80's rock and pop type show.

Just an idea for something tonight-ish.

OK! I am easy, so any music/bar/concert sounds like fun! For Sunday, it might be best if one of you selects a nice pub in prenzberg or something like that and then I will join after 10pm and then we can vote on it then. How do you all usually find each other? I might also still be up or something tonight as well, but it would have to be much later as I am still recovering from friday...

Derjakater, I got your message, but still haven't figured out how I can reply. Well guess I'll just keep posting on here. A nice bar in or near prenzlauer Berg or Mitte would be perfect. Only I don't know where. I haven't been in Berlin for long so I don't know that many places. Maybe Rose knows something?

This a cool, very-chill Berlin bar right by Mauerpark with a living-room like atmosphere and freindly staff. I have no idea if it is actually open today, but we should chekc it out...

This place should be open, loud and lively this evening, so that could be a good alternate choice as it is about 150 m from Villa Orange, which is a bonus.. We could also meet there first!
