a number of you TTers have had your first experiences with Touch over the last few weeks and judging by the feedback, you are all really enjoying it.
Touch as been played in Munich for well over a year now but we are still restricted to playing in the English Gardens. Here is where TTers may be able to help us out. We are looking for a club to take us on as a new "Abteilung" and give us access to a small pitch (70 x 50) a couple of times a week for training and playing. The more central the club the better but to be honest anywgere will do.
So! Any suggestions, connections or offers are very welcome.

A mate of mine runs the
Sportgaststätte at the Stadtwerke Muenchen grounds on Lauensteinstrasse.
Send him a mail to the address on the website (in German preferably) and he might be able to help out. Worth a try.

I am currently in negotiation with a club in Arabellapark (U4) to take Touch rugby on as a sport. Touch would be run as a separate department within the club so we can "run" ourselves" and profit from the clubs facilities. The club will offer full facilities including a real pitch where we can host matches and tournements and also indoor facilities for the winter as well changing rooms for ladies and men. The club also boasts a range of other sports including badminton, diving, volleyball and handball. It is also a fantastic way to get to meet real Germans (if you want, but you don't have to, since there will be enough english speakers) and make good local friends (improve your German)
This is the first club (after having approached many) that have expressed an interest in our sport. I would like to start up with as many members as possible
My question to all those budding Toytown stars: would any of you be interested in joining such a (Geman!) sports club for touch (and more sports if you want). Annual fees are not enourmous (you pay more in 1 or months in many fitness studios than in a year at this club.
post here or pm or eMail me if you are interested.

with the club I am dealing with at the moment, there is a base fee that you pay that includes club fees and department fees for one department. What I am not sure of at the moment is exactly how much, if any, you have to pay extra to join the other departments.
The basic cost will be about €10 per month (slightly more than in my first post). This will include membership of the club and the department. When I find out the exact rules about extra fees for other deoartments I will let you know, but experience is that is not much extra, perhaps one or two euros per month.

ok. for all those interested in joining a club to play touch in the future:
there is a vice-president from SPCE München coming on either Tuesday 31st August or sunday 5th September. It would be be great if all those that are interested in the club wuld come and show him what Touch is all about.
