i don't do a regular open mic, but i can recommend the one that they do every month in cord (sonnenstr.). they just started this series, but i attended one a few weeks ago and it was really good. they end the night with a singer / songwriter after all of the other acts (who showed up on the night) are finished. it's hosted by a scottish guy called alister. there's also a great backdrop of the city below, since one half of the club is all windows.
regarding the adventure club tomorrow night, i must admit myself that the response from bands has been overwhelming. i got a confirmations from even more bands who have played or will play at the adventure club over the past few days. so, the lineup now includes:
Five!Fast!!Hits!!! - these guys played at the very first Adventure Club last year and meanwhile, have gone on to open up for bands like Art Brut in the Elserhalle, do a UK tour, and headline a number of festivals last summer, including theatron.
Phil Vetter - singer / songwriter who just became the first artist to sign with
substanz records. phil played at the adventure club in may 2006 and has been busy ever since, putting out a full-length cd and touring europe to promote it. luckily, he's in town for the holidays and will play a few numbers on sunday.
in addition to these guys, MöBEL KRöGER will now also be playing a few songs as a preview to the "regular" adventure club in january, where they will be performing alongside The Jetnicks, LAZY, and E.Z Basic (from Budapest).
however, if you come on the night, we will still do our best to try to get you on the stage. just ask around for me when you get there.
hope this helps,
brandon
