This is something I really should go to as my German needs it but it conflicts with the 20-somethings meetup. Is this always thurs at 8pm?

yes the German Stammtisch is always on Thursday (every second!) starting @ 8pm. Locations vary.
Hope you will make it next time - just come and check it out.
It is nice crowd of people with various backgrounds and a great way to spend Thursday evening
