Hi, it was a great evening yesterday, but somebody forgot to pay his bill. It was an Apfelschorle, 1 Spezi and Chips and Salsa. It would be good to pm me who it was because i had to cover the bill. Thanx, Katja

Hi guy's, unfortunately I just saw this post and missed the even last time. Can I know when the next meeting will take place and where?
P.S.: I don't speak a word of German .

Firstly, the next Stammtisch will probably be at the end of August (normally every 2 weeks though) - the location varies every time. You can check the thread and look at the sign-up page to see where it will be. Secondly, I wouldn't really advise coming if you can't speak a word of German! Although beginners are welcome, most people have usually attended a German course first to grasp the basics and then come to the Stammtisch to practice speaking. It will be of no value to you if you cannot communicate at all.

Well, I believe Kats is out of town (on a very nice vacation) so is there any interest in still getting together to practice our Deutsch? If anyones interested please post, and maybe include an idea for where to meet up!?
I am interested (obviously) and would like somewhere outdoors, maybe a biergarten or something, but I guess that is weather dependent!
Any thoughts?

How about that place where we had that big beer once
Mook32
Aug 7 2007, 10:15 am
The
Paulaner Braühaus, down by
Goetheplatz has been suggested. Its fair sized, has pretty good beer and food. It has a biergarten and indoor area too, incase the weather is clement. How does that sounds? Oh and its not in Schwabing : ) heh heh

Hi! My husband and I will be in Munich tomorrow on an apartment search & may stop by.

The more the merrier CocoLa! Hope ya make it
I'm new here and a German beginner, but I'd love to practise mein Deutsch. Is dinner served there or should we come on a full stomach? Can I invite some Germans, too?

Aug 8 2007, 8:52 pm
I think we always go to a place that serves dinner, and I just about always eat dinner at this event. Their
website does have a menu, so I suspect food won't be a problem.
And I always say the more the merrier. We nearly always have Germans. Just make sure your German friends don't mind speaking German at more of a beginner level.
Well, I just got here 1 week ago, and I've only really met them once while looking for places, so I have no idea what they will think. In all likelihood, they will not show up. See you all there. BTW, how will we find each other or is it obvious?

I've been in Munich with my hubbie Andy for a week and a half now, and know hardly any German. I get the feeling tomorrow could be quite expensive for me !!!
Looking forward to it though, see ya tomorrow.

@Mook32: are you making a reservation? Or do you want me to?
@arch: we usually make a reservation under "Toytown," so people can just ask the staff where to find us. The usual organizer isn't here this week, though, so we need to coordinate that. If the staff doesn't know, just walk up to tables and ask if they are Toytown. You may get some weird looks, but you're bound to find us.

Reservation Under: Toytown (or other variations of how Germans spell it : ) @ 8pm
Yes, the Paulaner Braueri does serve food, and from what I hear its pretty good!
Usually pretty easy to find us, usually one of the larger groups, and we will be trying to speak bad german : )
And Andy, don't worry, most of the time we aren't that strict : )
Once again, the more the merrier, please sign up, and see ya there!

Attendance list with location link seems to have disappeared (ie down from 8 to 0!) - but I'll be there anyway and spreche dann mit mir selbst wenn noetig!! :-) New to the group so if you spot me hail the beige linen jacket...or a vague likeness to the profile photo...

Hi guys,
really sorry didn't make it; things kinda went out of control, but hopefully will come along soon. Hope you had a good night; it wasn't the thought of having to buy the drinks that made us not turn up, honest !!!

Last night was a lot of fun! I even had the experience of stealing the last taxi at my U-Bahn stop from another guy...
It was a good group of people last night...the beer seemed to have erased my memory of conversations, but I am pretty sure I spoke at least a little German
tdkwesel
Aug 10 2007, 9:32 am
not to worry Sari your German was just fine..although towards the end of the night i'm not sure WHAT language you were speaking. I'm surprised you had the wherewithal to steal a taxi! After all Tony had to stop you from falling off the curb right before we parted ways. That's quite a feat I'd say. Well done!

Aug 10 2007, 11:46 am
I also enjoyed this evening!
@Sari, just to refresh your memory... you spoke German (at least before 10pm), not that much but you did!

We can improve this next time.

So by my calculations, the 23rd would be the next Stammtisch date. I'll be flying back into MUC from Riyadh that morning, and could certainly stand a beer or three that evening. Anybody up for some deutsch, or are you all on holiday?
Or did I get my calculations wrong?
evayanny
Aug 20 2007, 8:00 pm
yes, my calculation is the same, next meeting should be on 23rd... but i am waiting for the final notice to head for there on Thursday... hope the rain stops by then, i hate this cold raining summer

Aug 20 2007, 9:16 pm
I think Kats is still on holiday but 2 weeks ago Mook32 organised the Stammtisch anyway...if someone wants to pick a place & time I'll set it up the sign-up page for you again. Can't make it myself this time.
I would recommend this:
Los Bandidos
MikeFromMUC
Aug 21 2007, 7:45 am
I 'm on holiday in Greece, so I won't make it this time. Have fun!
evayanny
Aug 21 2007, 8:31 am
Los Bandidos sounds ok, maybe a little more challenging for our German learners...because one comment says "might be a fight if people get too drunk quickly..." how we stop a fight with our limited German??? ...and one more comment says "hard to find it, as the restaurant/bar looks different than the picture"...i am not sure if this is true...

))
Anyhow, it is Tuesday today, we have to fix everything, otherwise we have to skip this week...I would say let's fix Los Bandidos, and who else wants to go?
Mook32
Aug 21 2007, 9:42 am
Hey Guys, so the vote is for
Los Bandidos eh? Anyone been there before? We tend to have a bit of a problem with really noisy places, but if this is the concensus than we are good to go, just need to make a reservation I guess.

Aug 21 2007, 10:29 am
I was there a couple of times. The place is ok but on thursday can be very-very loud. Do you have another idea where we can go?
tdkwesel
Aug 21 2007, 11:25 am
I'm in for Thursday as always, but I'd prefer some place not so incredibly loud.
@Mooks, looks like you got your wish. :-D
What about
Cafe Blue or
Rick's Cafe? Those are silent.
Mook32
Aug 21 2007, 4:51 pm
Those both look good MCA, any votes?
Ok, then
Rick's Cafe shall be.
@Mook, can you set up the sign up page, so we can vote?
madgibson
Aug 21 2007, 9:03 pm
Do you want me to set the sign-up page up for Rick's Cafe then?
madgibson
Aug 21 2007, 9:14 pm
Ok, I've set it up for Rick's - you just need to pick a time and someone should reserve based on the sign-up numbers. Shame I can't join...Rick's is great value for money - food and cocktails are good.
