The place is the new development there on Feilitzschstr. as you walk down towards Occamstr.on the right hand side next door to the Feilitzsch Höfe complex, just look for the Fitness company neon and its underneath.

The place is in the Feilitzschstr. 4, which is very close to Schwabinger 7. Just across the road I think.

we did the Sieben about a year ago after the tisch, got home about 4 in the morning more than worse for wear.

The Wasserman's a nice place (and just 'round the corner from the X-Kneipe, for those of us who don't have to get up early on Friday to slave for the man).

I have German class until 8:30. So if I muster up the strength and courage needed to survive a Stammtisch, I would arrive around 9 - 9:15, lusting for a cold, fine beer. Will have a better idea on my maybe status later in the week.

Great that you are coming Shaggy. Who else is up for the Stammtisch?

I have a question (and please dont say "all levels") I would really like to know what the real average prodominent level is of people who attend this.

Hi Barbara, It really does vary. Most people are intermediate but often we get people with only a few weeks of lessons behind them. People tend to swim when there is no choice

I think its a pretty unattractive method way of learning when you dont know any german and you want to know how to say something.

I just unregistered, because now it's looking like if I make it, it'll probably be after 21:00. I'll know more later. And next time I'll be out of town again, so I'd really like to come today...

I won't be there until at least 21.00 either and others will no doubt be later still...I'd still come along!

The real answer to your question: You do the best you can, people will help you gladly, you get some practice in a relaxed environment. You won't have to buy anyone drinks (except perhaps for me, for being so nice and friendly).

I can remember when Dafyyd (sp?) first came to the Stammtisch - I think he'd only been here 3 weeks and didn't have too much German but he persevered the whole night...and I see he's signed up again for tonight so it can't have been that bad!

As Jayhay says...we're not that mean and we do help people out if they're stuck..so give it a go. Don't knock it until you've tried it!

I really enjoyed last night's Stammtisch - lots of new faces - pity I didn't get to mingle more...

I like Café Puck too - thought the waiter was very friendly and did an excellent job of fitting us all in
