Birthday curry dinner for Ketchup: Thu 29.Jul.2004

As its Ketchup's birthday, we thought it would be nice to get a crew together to go for a curry and a few beers to help celebrate this auspicious occasion, before we head to Bondi for the Poetry Slam.

Venue: The Sangeet (Odeonsplatz)
Time: 7.00 (so having enough time for a few ales and a yarn)

Plan is to have dinner early (and get Drew suitably beered up ) and then head up to Bondi for 9.00, so we dont miss much of the show.

Who's up for it?

Wont be able to make the dinner (Still havent been here yet!!) I am helping Photojenny move @ 6.30pm. Should be able to make Bondi though.

Well I'll certainly be there - it's a great curry house, but as I said before - if you ask for hot, you get hot. You have been warned...

Went to Sangeet to try a new Indian restaurant last week. Didn't realize it's the same owner, menu, etc. as the one we live next door to frequent often (Sangham). Even had one of the normal Sangam employees working there who greeted us.

Still enjoyed it, great place! Found the Sangeet service a bit better than Sangam, but both have good service especially in comparison to other munich restuarants.

If you're looking to try a new dish besides the spicy Vindaloo, give Bhunna Ghosht (Fried lamb with tomatoes and fried onions in a tasty sauce ) a shot. It's not a spicy dish though, but they will spice it up upon request. The Karahi Ghosht is pretty good too. For vegetarians, the Mixed Vegetable dish (#114 I think) is quite good.

Would love to come but have to finish a paper today...well, tonight probably... bastard deadlines! If by any miracle I get somewhere close to finishing it I'll let Foxy know.

Don't think I'm gonna make it to dinner, but I might be able to come to Bondi later.

don't think I'll have time for the curry, seven looks to be a little to early for me today. But getting to the Bondi should be doable tonight.

Thanks everybody! I had a great night and really appreciate the fact that you all came out to help me celebrate my birthday. The food lived up to its reputation and I would highly recommend Sangeet to everybody. If you have a low tolerance for spicy food however, you might want to stay away from the little green peppers!
