Be forewarned-2006 Christmas stamp prices have gone up a bit this year-there is an extra Zuschlag or cost of 25 cents on each one.

Instead of the standard 55 cents for within Germany it's 80 cents now-Merry Christmas! Pictured on them is a nice creche scene, but they're not even self-adhesive! I am really shocked by the cheekiness/Frechheit of this. To exploit the market-knowing how many people send traditional snail mail holiday cards this time of year... There is one way around it that I would recommend: Buy the self-adhesive Vier Jahreszeiten (4 sesons) stamps and use the wintry snow scene stamps for the normal 55 cent price!;)

Sigh... you have bought "Wohlfart" stamps. These are stamps with a 25cent supplement given to charity causes. It's your choice to purchase these optional products ... because, of course, you like giving to charity - or not. It still costs 55 cents to send a letter.

Making donations to charity is also part of the season but usually it is a CHOICE. At our post office there is sadly no other option. What about at yours? If you want to buy Christmas stamps here-you MUST make the donation. I would also like to know to which organization this Spende or donation is going to.There is no mention on the stamps themselves. Any info on that?

2C, then make the choice NOT to buy the charity stamps eh.
NO WAY did a branch of Deusche Post not have normal stamps on sale.

Seems pretty easy - the choice is to buy normal stamps, not fancy Christmas ones.
