It's not big, but it does have
Feuerzangenbowle, a mini choo-choo train (best suited for the under 5's), decent enough steak sandwiches, lots of socks, and is small enough to be able to take the kids along and not worry too much about the crowds.
I'll be there Friday with a few kiddos and some of their parents. So if you don't want to brave the PoE, have the kids, or just want to try a glühwein somewhere different, come on by. Located directly on the U2,
Hohenzollernplatz.

Hey DDBug,
What time are you thinking of going, I might see if I can make it in, would love to finally meet you and your children (just incase I
babysit someday.. lol)

I'll probably be there from about 4:30 on for a couple hours, depending on the weather. Would be great to see you again!

oh, I was thinking of doing a Glühwein meet up at the
Chinese Tower... on friday, hmm. Maybe we can compromise then.

Dec 4 2006, 10:15 am
Sorry- I've already got an extra kiddo with me on saturday, and I'm meeting her (very cool) mom there. However, I want to go to the
chinese tower this season for sure!

I have to be honest, I dig the
Feuerzangenbowle at this one better than most others (at least that I've ever had in my life). You get to see the actual flames in your actual mug before you drink it. Fire is cool.

DDBug

Friday! Sorry. Friday, Friday, Friday. (Have the Christmas Party on my mind).
UQ - yes, this
Feuerzangenbowle has a sugar cube and lots of fire when they give it to you - I've never had one ...

bumping for the gals.
Wow - 145 views?! Hope to see at least a couple of you on Friday then!
do I have to be nice to your kids?

or can I terrorize them?
DDBug
Dec 4 2006, 10:00 pm

terrorize away. They aren't scared easily.
trying to remember, is there a portapottie there?
DDBug
Dec 6 2006, 10:12 pm
Yes, there is, as well as an italian, a potato house, a thai, an indian and an ice cream place.
And I live fairly close as well.

I was planning to come, but not sure anymore. Little man has a cough as well so probably shouldn't be out at night. Bloody hell, my social life is ruined this week!
DDBug
Dec 7 2006, 10:53 am
It's a 10 second walk to the Ubahn Renia, I can spike his kinderpunsch with cough syrup (we have enough of it here - just no more vomex...)

That doesn't sound like it would be very responsible parenting from my side though...

Fresh air is good for any kid. Now, if it's drizzling raining, I would say keep the sicky home. However, if he only has a mild cough and doesn't cough on me, I would say bring him along for some fresh air and a ride on the choo-choo train. It doesn't mean you have to keep him there all night.
Edit : oh, you meant spiking the kinderpunsch. I was kidding about that.

I don't kid about that though!

No, I meant bringing him out and spiking the kinderpunsch...oh and letting him drink my punsch too.

When Renia says child she actually means minature marauding viking, a mere spiking of the punch won't do it, you'll need to give him a cask of his own.

they have a nice hot choc there too, with whipped cream, and tastes nice with Ammeretto.
oh, just reminded myself to shop at the Plus there and the Asian Shop.

We don't call him DestrucTOR for nothing...
@Carm, are they called Schneeman at some stalls?
Carm
Dec 7 2006, 12:22 pm
No, there are something else called Schneeman- I think they are like a big Marshmellow ball covered in Choc, I had Scheeballs at a market in Rothenberg and they were dough pieces balled up cooked and then rolled in cinnamon sugar.
I could be wrong about the Schneeman though, every place has its own ideas.

Planning to be there by 5 (crosses fingers, knocks on wood and prays to God for no more disasters).
DDBug
Dec 7 2006, 10:18 pm
I should be there by 5 - and Christopher's new girlfriend Sara should be there as well so Carm can see who's replaced her in his little heart.

Dec 7 2006, 11:37 pm
Oh, I don't know if I can handle that DDBug, come on, the boy who wanted to marry me, is now seeing another... kind of heart breaking. Might need a tequila or 10 to get over it.
Sara, she had to be called Sara, didn't she, why not Ester, or Myrtle or Gertrude, but Sara?
