I signed up for
this trip a fortnight ago, can't wait. Since I didn't make it to any of the ski club events, I have no idea who is a member of the club. Who else from TT is going to be there?
Anyway, I've been checking the
weather/snow forecast for Sölden pretty much daily and the snow situation is improving slowly - 70cm on the glacier now and 10-20cm further down. I'm praying for a major dump sometime next week so that they can open the lower part of the ski resort ...

Dunno, Jay, but I wish I could go.
In light of the fairly dire snow situation, it looks like you'll be missing out on an exciting weekend of mud-skiing.

i am going to the opening weekend at Mayrhofen on those dates, so I am hoping for some more snow too !
Have been boarding at Stubaital the last 3 weekends and there has been about 30cm snow there...but it is a glacier...fingers crossed for a big dump in the next two weeks !

In these less-than-stellar snow conditions - I'm impressed!
I think you'll all be fine in Sölden. I'm sure they got their snow makers working fulltime on their glaciers anyways, and their glacial area (actually, it's two glaciers) will easily keep you occupied for the weekend.

I am Australian and missing the surf too much, so I have to go boarding as much as possible to try and make up for it !
Stubaital has been very nice the last few weekends...beautiful weather and good enough conditions to have a fun day skiing/boarding.
They have also set up a 'fun park' on one of the runs with jumps, tabletops and rails...so there is plenty to keep you occupied !

This time last year the ski season was in full swing. I really can't imagine anyone opening before the middle of December this year, except for of course the glaciers and a few other really high resorts. This warm weather is absolutely unbelievable and really, there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Its getting beyond a joke now.

Last year we were in Flachau for the first weekend in December and they had tons of snow.
This really is ridiculous.
My ancient tribal snow-dance (performed naked) has obviously not been working.
But it did break the ice with the new neighbours.

Thing is, its quite cold in Munich today (still too warm for the end of November, but still) however up in the moutains its 7.5 degree's at 1750m and they are bathing in the sun. This is bad news. Just check out
this cam of Seefeld.
These guys are meant to be opening at the end of the week - I doubt it.
If its any consolation though, I remember around the 10th of December 2003 when I had a ski holiday booked for Christmas. On that day it was 6 degree's at 2000m and absolutely no snow. However, it just took one dump, which came about a week later and it was fine down there. Still doesn't mean we're going to be skiing much before Christmas.

I've just checked the 3-day forecast for Sölden and now they're pushing back the expected change in weather to the middle of next week at the earliest. So ... up on the glacier for us. Still, at least it will be sunny and mild so we can work on our tans.

Here's a couple of photos from Sölden this weekend.
The weather was beautiful and the snow wasn't half bad.
