I've been to Negroni many times and my favourite cocktail there is the White Havana.
It's an analogous to the White Russian, but no comparison. White Havana has rum instead
of vodka and a special touch!

Have you ever tried to drink fine cachaça (not those for caipirinha)? They are great, especially
if aged and you drink straight like any grappa. The ONLY place to have fine cachaça in Munich
is in Ver o Peso Bar, near the Gasteig. And he also makes lots of cocktails, some of them
based on cachaça (apart from the well known caipirinha). For example, one nice cocktail
is called PENTA, which is a mix of aged cachaça, honey and a bit of lime juice.

Definitely Wasserwerk. They do the yummiest martinis there!

Cocktailhouse in the Feilitzstrasse, they're pretty good. One of the most extensive selections in town.

so this list is a tad outdated now. My mum's visiting this weekend and I'm trying to find some nice bars to take her to, preferably serving cocktails. Me thinks it's the SATC fever wub.gif

Negroni seems a popular choice on this list - is it still as good as the reviews say it is?

I'm looking to go somewhere which doesn't have much of a young crowd but that isn't too expensive either i.e. around €8 for a cocktail.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I live bang-central so isn't a problem getting anywhere.

Thanking you muchos in advance

All of the above pretty much work and your 8 yoyo will buy a standard sized cocktail no problem.

Outside of that introduce her to a beer garden and cocktail bar combined by taking her to the Hofbraeukeller which also has the Sausoltos cocktail bar inside the beer garden.

I think the Potting Shed out in Schwabing probably serves the best cocktails I had while I was in Munich. A close second was Egger in der Au. We went to Negroni, but I wasn't that impressed with it. Plus I found it to be kind of expensive, especially compared to Egger.

The PottingShed is alot more expensive than Negronis.

Paqueno's does nice cocktails too, happy hour til 9, and again at 11 even on weekends! And they have jumbos!

Cafe Weiner platz is also good the one on Rosenkavalierpl does a happy hour til 10, El Patio too- but no happy hour, but they do have a drink special of the night.

Whatever you do, do NOT go to The Big Easy and order the New Orleans Gin Fizz.

We renamed it the Smegma Cocktail because it was just that disgusting!

EDIT: iirc the vile concoction was made up of: gin, cream, some kind of orange liquer and soda

thanks for the suggestions guys smile.gif I think we're gonna hit up the Hofbräukeller since the weather is nice to sit outside. Will definitely be checking out those other places in the near future too wink.gif
