Hey guys
im not sure how stupid this is going to sound but from the little i know about tax this is all i can describe. I left germany in Dec after training at a company in Munich and applied for my tax returns in July with the help of my company HR as it was in German and i didnt understand a word of it not that it would have been better in English either. In anyway after closing my bank accounts and everything and movin entirely out of Germany I got a letter today that I have to pay 134Euros for some other tax purposes. Im really not aware of what i should be really payin this for but could anyone give me a hint of what it is and how should i go about payin this.
im not going to come back to Germany again.
ANd i didnt get a single euro back. its really strange. can some one help me with what to do.
thanks again

without reading the letter you received it would be impossible to tell you anything.

It would be helpful if you at least posted the headlines of the letter...
For a start, surely the letter must state what kind of tax you are asked to pay! unsure.gif

i dont know that yet as the letter is still with my company. The tax was deducted at source and for every bonus that I received as well. bUT I will post the details in abit.

Throwin a few thoughts out there, but when you trained with the company, did you fill out a form for tax purposes, and if so, did you cross off the Church tax, Nurse tax etc. (think that;s what they were)?

134 Euros sounds about right for those taxes, i'd say.

Worth it too - that many Euro's can go a fair way in Oz...

If it was already deducted at the source, how come you still have to pay it? unsure.gif
