you can't leave!!!

i will be there on Tuesday to say good bye to my favourite Irish man!!!
And will be looking forward to listening to all the weird stories about Stockholm you've got to tell, when being back in Munich.
Evil plan: We could organise a TT trip to stockholm to help him to get some information for his stockholmnights.com

That's not an evil plan, that's a good plan

I'll be there on Tuesday for sure!

Congratulations on the move!
I hope to be there on Tues, depends on my flight as I'll be coming back from AMS that afternoon.
Katrina
Sad to see you leave Roger, TT will definately be different from now on. If it isn't only for the fact that there will less party photos.
But make sure you gather enough information for your stockholmnights.com. San and I will be there early September to see if you bar knowledge in Stockholm can compete with the one you have of Munich

.
And ofcourse I'll be there next Thuesday to see (or drink) you off...

I expect to see lots of pics of swedish butts on keydeck.com and various reports about where the best bargirls are and girls in general.
Enjoy something other than Munich and let us know how it goes.

Damn Rog, as usual am away for work. All my best to ya. Sorry Munich couldn't see your value and keep ya.
Does moving to Stockholm also mean you will give up drink?

Alcohol is pretty expensive up there, no?

The Irish pub in the city centre of Stockholm, damm cannot remember the name (just know the way from the central park) is pretty good. Have spent a lot of time there during my visits to Stockholm.

So far I've been in The Dubliner...not bad, live music most nights and certainly a good option for watching sports, Wistroms...the business, winding staircase, rooms off rooms, cavernous feel, good music, The Loft...closed, possibly for ever, The Bull & Bear...English, too expensive for what you get, have to order at the bar, not the Mae West and finally O'Connells...trying to hard at the Irishness whereas with Wistroms it comes more naturally, louder more boistress crowd, too bloody green. I noticed that there's a large amount of pubs claiming to be English pubs. A couple of dozen as against the one or two here in Munich. Also did a number of Swedish bars, The Ice Bar and a Bavarian kneipe (Zum Franziskaner).
Most places serve bar food although the range is usually fairly limited. Beer costs between about €3 and €6.50 from what I saw. Many bars have a 23 age limit on them and this tends to be enforced in a fairly sexist way. Cute chickies get preference regardless of age. Some places have an enforced cloakroom policy. You must leave your coat with the attendant and you must pay about €1 to do so.
Standard way to ask for a beer is either by naming the brand, Pripps or Mariestad for example or just asking for a Stor Stark (generic term for a strong one). Alcohol content of beers is an issue. Bars serve anything from about 3.5% to 5.5%. Supermarkets can only sell up to 3.5%, anything stronger you must go to the government run off-license. Many bars have a gambling table with official croupier inside the door. Blackjack was the game of choice in the places I saw it.
Random facts.
You have full mobile signal on the underground. Ringtones tend to be set quite loud and by and large are all fancy polyphonic ditties.
Couples with children mostly have a boy and a girl who is about 1.5 to 2 years older. The children will be blonde regardless of the parents. I suspect government involvement.
People do not have a concept of the idea of personal space. Similarly to here only more so.
The islands out in the archipelago are spectacular. Lush green vegetation, huge smooth rocks at the waters edge, picture postcard stuff. I suspect government involvement.
Written Swedish is some ways resembles German. Many words are the same or similar. Spoken Swedish resembles a pot of carrots boiling over...but in a lyrical way.
Not bad for seven days.
Thanks for the kind words guys. Am looking forward to Tuesday already.

Anyway buy you a beer on Tuesday !

wish you all the best Rog, rugby games in murphys wont be the same without your presence and your drinking abilities -be that beer, or milk (no need for that extra cow we got you anymore)

Just wondered where exactly she "dumped" that had the profound effect of sparkle loss MadAxeBloke? Was it in the bed? On the glass coffee table in the lounge? In the fridge?
If my new digital camera turns up then I would love to come out for a beer! Obviously without a smart digital camera on my hip it would be like turning up with no trousers on etc...

Hey Pastaknob, good to hear from you. We'll raise a bottle to your memory at some stage of the proceedings.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this evening. The tables are booked in my name (that's Roger, not Keydeck), but just go down the stairs into Kilian's and turn to your left. The area down the back end has been reserved. I'll be there from 19:30 anyways.
Both Kilian's and it's immediate neighbour Ned Kelly's will be showing whatever football is on tonight (suitably I think Sweden are playing) and later on (or perhaps during breaks) Kilian's will have a blokey on guitar belting out a few tunes. I've heard him a couple of times before and he's none to hard on the eardrums. (that means he's good).
Later.
