Yeah I'll be along for my first TT Tuesday.
I'll need to know how best to recognise you lot, as I doubt whether you'll be the only crowd speaking English...
butterbean
Jun 7 2004, 8:12 am
excellent plan, Pootle. can't be there at 6, but hopefully later.
How does one recognize the TT table?
butterbean
Jun 7 2004, 9:36 am
unless someone has a better idea (please, anyone), perhaps we'll have to rely on the
blue guitar again?

Jun 7 2004, 9:37 am
I'll be there in time for the draw.

Jun 7 2004, 9:38 am
The Blue guitar is Rog's isn't it? And he'll be away with the Swedish fairies...
butterbean
Jun 7 2004, 9:40 am
oh, good point. maybe he'll leave us the guitar to remember him by?

If you want it I can drop it to someone this afternoon.
And they're called "little folk" or "wee free men". "Fairies" is an inaccurate racial generalisation.

@ Profundo, "What's the place like"? ---- the Chinesischer Turm is the summer equivalent of the Hofbräuhaus, the most famous beer garden in Munich (although the "local" ones like Augustiner are probably better). The benefit: easy to get to (in Schwabing), often has live oompah music (could be seen as minus point really!) and cool atmosphere under the trees.
To get there take the U3/U6 to Giselastrasse or Universität, take a right heading East down the back streets and then into the English garden. It is easy to find and if you get lost, everyone can help you!
Here's the map:
http://www.hot-maps.de/@ Keydeck, where do you live to drop off the guitar? Although I want to go to the gym first so I guess someone (i.e. Pootle) should take it...

Jun 7 2004, 11:27 am

See you all there tomorrow!

Memo, I know
Jooly, I'm in Laim near Westend u-bahn station. So if someone is closeby then great. Failing that I will be going over to Pao n' Hellcat's place near Barerstr later so either I can give it to them or perhaps someone in and around that area can get it.

Thanks Ebob for providing a pic. I have seen the place before and thought it would make a great spot to get together. Thanks JoolyB for the map link- you are a god among other Boolies or Joo-joo-bees or whatever it is you are the god of.
Mostly likely count two more in.
The weather should be great!

I don't really know what to make of 79° feels like 79°...WTF?? Of course it's going to feel like 79° - because it bloody well is...who comes up with this shit??
Anyway...I'm with Canuck on this. Fahrenheit?? That's what they used in the olden days, isn't it?

Jun 7 2004, 10:34 pm
Right so, Jooly has the blue guitar so you can look for it in the beer garden tomorrow.
Please take care of it as it's all I have to practise on when I can't plug my amp in.
Enjoy!

Jun 8 2004, 8:11 am
actually, as might be obvious from the name, the Fahrenheit scale of measurement was invented by, gasp, a
German! Back in 1724.
Hazza is correct. Celsius, while invented much earlier, was only adopted in 1948. The US didn't. But, carn Hazza, "feels like" accounts for when it doesn't feel like the actual temperature due to wind chill, humidity, etc. You know that. Same thing can happen in Celsius - 18, but feels like 17.
Not sure if I'll make it tonight now. Feeling a little crappy (and cranky obviously

).
EDIT: sorry, I guess profundo
beat me to it.

Looks like we will have the
AIM's joining us tonight as well - should be a good crack.
If you dont want to walk all the way through englischer garten, the 54 bus goes from Munchener Freiheit and will drop you off right by the tower, likewise this bus runs from ostbahnhof the other end (if your coming from that side of town).
Should be in the beer garden by 6pm! See you all soon

Good to meet some of you people last night and put names to faces, even if some of the names are a bit dodgy
It would none of it have been possible without the blue guitar!
Oh, and I’d forgotten how good Penguins taste.
Go Greece!

@ Big C - beer as a hayfever medication - very interesting idea!!!
@ DrivinWest - do you really think you can blame the wagon weels for it ?
Okay, here is the result: beer is healthy, sweets aren´t.

On Friday of next week I'll be taking a leave of absence (probably permanent) from sunny Munich to set up shop for a while on the shores of Stockholm. There's a niche there for a stockholmnights.com type thingymajig that needs to be filled

I've had an absolute blast during my extended 3 month stint in Munich and will definitely be dropping back in from time to time as my beloved Badger will be keeping things going here.
Weather permitting I'd like to get together a band of like-minded souls for a few scoops in a beer garden. Everyone is welcome whether you've been out with the TT crowd before or not.
Hope we can get a good crowd together.
I'll post details of where it's gonna be closer to the day.

Jun 17 2004, 2:46 pm
Rog mate, what can I say? Thanks for all the advice (go read my first ever post - you were telling me to go pick up Brazilian chicks at Skyline back in September), and some brilliant nights out. TT won't be the same without you - it goes without saying that I'll be there on Tuesday to see you off. Don't be a stranger.

I've only been out with you's once for wasserman's birthday do! Then I met up with you's in the beergarden for a breif stint before training but i'll definately make a big effort to be there on tuesday where ever it may be!
Good luck in stockholm hope you have a great time there! Don't forget to keep posting your infamous pictures!
