Unfortunatly I cannot make it for today but I would really like to get to know some people as my friends are all in Berlin...
waiting for news :-)

So as I wandered to the bathroom I thought, "where's my electric camera?" and went back to pick up the bulky thing and try to stuff it in my jeans. I say 'electric' instead of 'digital' because I was 'wandering' to the bathroom that was 10 meters away and wasn't in the right mind to label things correctly.
Once inside I thought of how I could get out of paying the man 50 more cents but came up empty with excuses till I reached for the paper towels. Empty. He saw me and suggested the other towel dispenser. I reached for it but it was empty too. "No, wait!" he said and ran through the open door that seperated the girls and boys as he dodged the girls who were washing their hands and started pulling out paper towels for me to use... but I left with wet hands and didn't pay a cent (this time).
I get back to the table to realize that my 6 month supply of Lucky Strikes is missing from the table. Shit! Who took my Lucky Strikes? 10 people were standing around. The precious cigs were right next to my electric camera that is gone too! Oh wait. I have my camera. Good thing I didn't leave it there next to the cigs. Oh well. Guess I will have to watch out next time.
Dokken, Back from the Attack! Download it today. (esp the track 'Mr. Scary') seriously though, it's great

This is the last picture we have of the aforementioned packet of Lucky's.

There is a reward of €4.35 for information leading to the successful prosecution of the culprit.

For Tuesday drinkies, there's a great little bar which I hugely recommend. The Gerner, in wait for it, Gern. I would actually consider moving to Gern just so I could have this place as my local. I know a few TTers already live in the area.
They serve simply the best burger that I've eaten anywhere in Munich and all their prices are very reasonable. Staff are very friendly and the place just has a great feel to it.
"The Gerner"
Dantestr 33
Gern
Go to Westfriedhof station on the U1 and it's about 30 seconds away on the corner of Dantestr and Baldurstr. The very friendly (and very cute) Aussie waitress said that we could have a weather-permitting reservation. So, if it's nice then we've got big tables outside and if not then they'll sort us out inside.
Please post here if you're interested.

How does it work?

Simple

Post on the thread here that you will be coming along (just in case someone is booking tables...)
Then, turn up. Look for the english speaking mob, or if we are going to a really large place ask for someones mobile number in case you cant find the crowd.
Its nothing too formal like some of the TT events, people come(and go) at various times of the evening.
Have fun!

Hi Keydeck,
I would like to join so I can meet some new people. Actually I have been working in Berlin for the past three years and here everything looks so different even tough it is the same country!
Should I leave you my phone number? here it is:01624876313

No problem at all Davide. Just come along tomorrow evening and look out for the blue inflatable guitar. It saves people having to ask around. Although in The Gerner it should be fairly obvious anyway who we are.

Yep, I´ll be there tonight.
cool, I will try to make it there, too. I am fairly new to this town as well and just found this site today. I'm studying computer science at the TU... yes, a geek

When should I be arriving? I think I read something about 7PM. Yes, earlier, later, never?
Sorry dudes, but me and my b-e-e-atch are gonna be watching the footie in Murphys. Have fun!

Jxn, arrive whenever you wish mate. People come along at all sorts of times. I don't know if the place is busy during the week so I can't say how long the reservation will be good for. I do know that lots of O2 peoples drink there. I told them we'd be 15-20 people so we'll see what happens.

O.K. as I well know from past experience Toytown is not a great footballing messageboard, but for those very few interested individuals Foxy and I will be at
Günther Murphys this evening to watch the England v Japan game - hopefully SGE will put out his preferred 11 men so it should be interesting to see what he has in mind for Euro 2004.
I'll be in Günthers with Foxy from about 19:45 - 20:00 until just after the match finishes (about 11pm) - feel free to join us. For those of you who don't know me, I'll be wearing an England shirt with 'Jimbo' written on the back... (and remember kids - there's no reason that you couldn't go to the beer garden first and then come to GMs)...

Yeah, I'm gonna try to make it to Gerner's too, though won't be able to stay too late.
I'll also try to drop by, and see if the place is as good as Keydeck thinks. But I don't think I'll be there very early, probably around nine or so.

Jimbo: Why would you watch a crap game like England vs. Japan and miss out of the festivities at The Gerner? I just don't understand? Watching England vs. Japan is almost as bad as saying ..."Hey XXX, lets meet up for the England - Canada game tonight...That should be a damn close and stimulating match..."

A very good night. Good to meet a couple of new people. Always fun. Gerner lived up to my expectations, great burgers, good prices, excellent service, what more could one want? A location to remember.
'Erm, this was our waitress. Top marks!

TT Tuesday, if its sunny how about going to the
Chinese Tower at englischer garten, and if it rains into Gunther Murphys?
The euro2004 sweepstake will get drawn at 8pm. Reckon I will be at the chinese tower around 6pm. Anyone else coming along?

Supposedly it's going to be 30 degrees Tuesday, so Englischer Garten/Chinesischer Turm sounds fine. If we agree to that location, I'd be there 7pm-ish.
profundo
Jun 6 2004, 11:25 pm
Is there a better
description about the place besides what TT has?
I need photos, critical reviews, what the waitresses look like on a scale of 1 to 10 and complete price breakdown of everything on the menu.

Just kidding. It's the people, not the place that make the event.
But seriously, what's the place like?

Hiya
I am planning to go and see Hans-Dietrich Genscher speak at the FDP EU election rally at Augustiner Keller (Arnulfstr. not Bayerstr.) which starts at 18:30, Genscher will probably speak at about 19:30-20:00 though.
