I am relatively new to Munich and very new to Toytown. I would like to join you at Hofbräukeller this evening.

@ Calphurnia - we'll see you there. Just wander about listening out for English speakers - there were nearly 40 of us last week (tho I can't see it being quite that busy this week, but who knows???)

Yeah, I'll try to make it along for a bit tonight. Seems a shame not to with this gorgeous weather. Any excuse, eh!

As such I will resemble the bloke below except I'll be wearing glasses and will be sporting a baseball cap with either SOWETO or GUINNESS written on the front. That should do for identification.

Good night had by all I think, though they shut the bar stupidly early and the place is a little too big for my tastes - I've decided though that drinking on a school night is now officially off limits for me...

I enjoyed it too. Yes, the place is huge, but that doesn't prevent it from getting absolutely crammed. I'm not doing too great right now though, so next time I'll start and stick w/ Radler instead of Helles.

Radler is my new middle name - I didn't have much but I feel like utter crap this morning...

Lesson learned the hard way that if I'm going to meet up with people I've never met before to actually find out what the hell they look like. I heard it from my friends last night.

"So, we're looking for who exactly?"
"Um...friendly people that speak English."
"Anything else to go on?"
"Yeah, I think one of the guys was supposed to be wearing a hat."
"Yeah, good planning, well done!"

It did seem a bit strange that all of a sudden the lights were off and everyone was gone. We headed over to the bar for a few more drinks, which clearly was a mistake. Funny how all reason seems to fly out the window when I've had a few. Never occurs to me to stop while I'm ahead. Doh!

Next time it'll be a lot more obvious. It's partly my fault, I'd promised to wear an Irish rugby shirt and a hat with SOWETO written on it. I did this, but what I failed to mention was that I'd be only staying for an hour or so and then heading off to the airport. I was there until 8pm and wandered around a bit in case anyone was lost. Plan is to be there from about 7pm. We'll make an easy way to find people once we have a better idea of how many are going, so please post if you are coming along. There will be no problems finding the group this time.

Best way to get there is from Hauptbahnhof and just walk up Arnulfstr to the garden (less than 10 minutes), get the S-Bahn to Hackerbrücke and walk from there (less than 5 minutes) or you can take the 16 or 17 tram line which goes past it (get off at Hopfenstr and walk up or Hackerbrücke and walk back).

Sorry can´t make it have to babysit... I know you all don´t care but I did post that I would go out on Tues as its my last week...

Maybe, got a team building event tomorrow. NOt sure what beer garden we are heading too afterwards, but I will try and steer in the direction of the augistiner...

Rightio so, I'll be in the beer garden from approximately 7pm. We'll be seated in the self-service area (rectangular rather than round tables) so that narrows it down a little and to make things much easier there will be a blue inflatable guitar on the table. Evil boss, however, has just informed me he's off on vacation from Thursday through next week, which is great, except he tends to completely flip out and make everyone work late needlessly before he leaves.
