I'll be there as well. With radishes! Although I personally think it will be too cold this evening to really be comfortable in the beergarten.

Hey, if I have to wear my jacket and don't have anyone to cuddle up next to, it's too cold for the beergarten in my opinion. I've been here for 10 years, I've gone soft.

I know what you mean; my resilience against cold was totally lost after spending 5 years in Houston. The average winter temp there is about as warm as it is here right now.

Keydeck: They still make those mini-hamburgers (fleischplandl) and serve them at 10:30 every night. They don't taste as good anymore since the long time cook (she was there for more than 25 years) retired about 4 months ago. They're still OK though... And the most important thing...They still have the best 'crapper' wallpaper in all of Munich!

Thanks KD for giving me a heads up on the phone. I didn't see this thread. I am one block west and one block south of the place. Will definetly be going back (with the right crowd, of course)!

Had a really great time, now off to bed. Shame, since burgers are the one food I like. Gotsta get up early. Lurch, thanks for the rib.

Yep - I enjoyed it, and have a slight headache to prove it. Didn't go over to the pub afterwards as I had to be here for 8am and have a really exciting essay to finish, and I wouldn't want to miss that, no sireee...

Isn't next Thursday (20th) a bank holiday? So perhaps a TT Wednesday next week???

Ahh, always good to go somewhere different for a change. Brings out the best in people in my humble opinion. Sadly we were too late for the burgers. But the owner was there and still bears more than a passing resemblence to Anna Karen (or Olive from "On The Buses"). And the wallpaper in the gents is as impressive as ever - SPRRZZZZTTT!!!

As for the photos, I'm putting them onto keydeck.com at the moment. Wouldn't want to post them here in case they upset someone. I'm considerate like that and they're not exactly only PG rated in fairness.

That was a top quality evening - good to see so many regulars out and a few newcomers. Nice to meet the famous Mrs. Hay

However if, in the future, I propose drinking three mass on a school night and then going to a bar and drinking more will someone please stop me!

@Brummie - I just about managed to stop myself mate - and still woke up with a headache at 4am for some reason... My years of experience have taught me that starting at 6:30 is not a good idea on a school night, and it's certainly not a good idea to stop at 11, and then just throw caution to the wind and go to another pub.

I learned a great trick last night. Pure magic it was. When starting early in a beer garden, drink Radlers. I had 5 of the buggers and felt absolutely spiffy. Now perhaps that makes me a bit of a pedal n' cranker or some sort of southern shandy drinking puff, but I stayed the distance, dragged a few innocents down, allowed a very fcuking expensive call to the states on my moby and still got home without the badger getting pissed off at me. Incidentally, at the height of the beer garden there were apparently 45 of us. A staff member approached me at one point and asked if everything was ok with us. And then in a very friendly way let me know that last orders would be coming soon and if we wanted anything we should let them know as soon as possible. Nice bloke! Successful evening all round!

I hope not, I am flying to the UK next Wednesday, I need my fix of German beer before I go off to drink the UK poison.

We were talking about this the other night and given that the weather looks very promising (and the success of last week), we're gonna go with a beer garden.

It's a very nice beer garden and very easy to get to.

You can get there on the U4/U5 to Max Weber Platz, Tram lines 15, 18, 19 & 25 and Bus lines 91, 191 & 192.

If you're new to Munich (or just new to Toytown) then this is a perfect opportunity to come along and meet lots of people.

Please post if you're gonna come along as we may make reservations later today if there's enough people to warrant it.
