I think Beans gets the prize for the most little icons at the end of her posts.
I love beans!
Nov 5 2003, 4:47 pm
Wow! I never win anything! But actually, I think sparty wins that one.

So Katrina - you say that this Nina teaches at the BIS !! I'll have to get my daughter to check on her intoxication levels in the mornings huh ???

I wouldn't mind popping down and checking on Nina and Kate...really, no problem at all...

Nov 5 2003, 5:10 pm
i will blearily add my vote to the 'perhaps one too many' poll, knew it was a bad sign when I borrowed money off sparty cos I'd already spent all my cash on beer. anyway had a good time and it was good to meet peeps, so hurrah.
I love beans!
Nov 5 2003, 5:17 pm
You borrowed money from sparty!!!
cruisin for a bruisin, my friend! (sparty)
Sparty, you owe me a drink. Or everytime you order a beer I'm gonna go to the bar and get you another one and then when the waitress comes for cash, I'll just give her the typical dutch "It's none mine, I don't know"
sparty

Nov 5 2003, 5:32 pm
on a certain interpretation Beans' profile might indicate that she is pimping sparty and jimbo out.
Jimbo
Nov 5 2003, 5:40 pm
That interpretation could also lead to a kicking.

I've already thought about "Buying one and getting the other one for free!"
sparty
Nov 6 2003, 10:22 am
Ok, tricky question then. Who would you buy, and who would you want for free then?
Jimbo
Nov 6 2003, 10:22 am
Oh god.
Here we go.
Karen
Nov 6 2003, 10:35 am
Well, you both have brown hair, glasses (nice), a good sense of humor ... What are your unique selling positions than? I'll go for the guy, who offers most for my money
Jimbo
Nov 6 2003, 10:42 am
Haha... I don't even want to know how I should interpret 'offers the most for my money'. Take Sparty, and I'll concentrate my efforts on Beans.
Though I have to say, I do offer some very competitive rates...
Karen
Nov 6 2003, 10:44 am
I guess he's the most experienced one anyway
Jimbo
Nov 6 2003, 10:45 am
I don't know actually. Sparty, how much experience have you got mate? Hang on a second...we're off topic. Please see new thread I am creating in Misc.
I thank you.

Toytown Regulars - After Work Free Beer
Murphy's Irish Pub
Nikolaistrasse (Schwabing - between Giselastrasse and Münchner Freiheit)
http://www.gunther-murphys.com/
This coming Tuesday (11th November) - similar deal to
last week.
Be at "The Well" (a seating area in the pub) between 5.15pm and 6.50pm sharp and your first draught beer or cider will be on the house. This offer applies to *all* registered TT members (native English speakers) who have made at least one post in the previous 7 days - regardless of whether you're new to the forum or not. Offer only applies to the first 20 arrivals.
Dress code: business suits or casual.
For those of you who've never met any Toytowner's personally, here's the magic phrase to claim your beer voucher:
"I've lost my dog. Have you seen him/her?"If the person you say this too replies,
"Maybe, what's his/her name?"Then you reply with your Forum Handle and you get your free beer/cider.
If the person replies with something like,
"I haven't seen any lost dogs, but would you like to see my puppies?",...then I'm afraid you picked the wrong person to ask.
Keydeck
Nov 7 2003, 11:57 am
If the person you ask is female and offers to show you her puppies then I'd say to hell with free beer, you've definitely picked the right person!
pointman
Nov 7 2003, 2:19 pm
what exactly does it mean if a guy were to respond with... 'do you want to see my puppies?'
good thing in my short 1 wk w/ TT i've met a fair amount of people and don't have to risk going through this possible life traumatizing event.
I love beans!

Last week budget constraints meant that the Toytown complimentary beers/ciders were limited to those who were newcomers (Sorry Showem, Astroboy!).
This week, however, the offer is open to *all* Toytowners, whether you're fresh-faced or dog-eared.
Not only that, but it's also the *first 20* to arrive, not the first 10.
Cheers!

Wow, even more reason to come. Though I think I count as new anyway???
Unfortunately, too much laundry to do to get ready for the trip. I figure next Thuesday I'll still be recovering from 30 hours of traveling, so if this is still going strong in December, we'll be there!

Toytown Regulars - After Work Free Beer
Murphy's Irish Pub
Nikolaistrasse (Schwabing - between Giselastrasse and Münchner Freiheit)
http://www.gunther-murphys.com/
Today (Tuesday 18th November) - similar deal to
the week before.
The first 20 TT'ers to arrive at "The Well" (a seating area in the pub) between 5.30pm and 7pm get their first draught beer or cider on the house.
No daft passphrases. No secret handshakes. Just a free beer. Come down afterwork and grab a quick freebie before heading back to your pad for a microwave curry. Or... drop by, down 12 pints, stay till pub closing, sleep with a stranger, and skip work the next day. Up to you.
Whatever, remember that this gathering is *specifically designed* for new Toytowners. So if you've just joined today, or if you've been lurking in the shadows for a few weeks, come down and put some faces to the names!
Dress code: business suits or casual.
There will be one more TT regulars next Tuesday (25th November). Then that's it for this year. So you've got two more free beers this year. Why miss out?
Jimbo
Nov 18 2003, 10:27 am
Actually, I'll probably pop in for just a couple and a bite to eat after work, so I WILL see you all down there.
