The flag was hoisted at 7 and we were there well past midnight. We had two tables, so shouldn't have been too hard to spot / hear

Silly jml - super hero capes are red! Anyway, I've decided to lay off the laser eyeball thingy as I was getting through too many pairs of contact lenses.

I did get there in the end and a good night it was too. Oh yeah, Jeeves is correct in detailing the flag's original use

A beer in Westpark would be lovely.

I've voted for Michaeligarten for tonight. It might be a new place for many of you; I'd describe it as the Seehaus without the crowds. It's right on a lake in Ostpark.

The Michaelibad stop on the U5 is 10 minutes' ride from Stachus, then maybe 5-10 minutes walk through the park to the beer garden. There's also lots of parking if anyone's driving.

If we don't go there for today's TTT, I hope we can do it soon. It's worth checking out.

@IW: boldly ford the river and come out! (Or I believe the over-30's do is about as close to Leopoldstrasse as you can get without being run over.)

Awww...expand your horizons a bit! We always go to the same places. I've lived in Munich for 3.5 years, altogether, and I only really know a handful of places (my own fault, I know).

Aww Jeezzzz. Don't worry IW - I'll hold your hand from the Ubahn station if you want. I'll even bring my big dragon slaying dog with me so you won't get hurt.

I've been there loads of times, its a really nice beer garden, but its a long way to cycle home drunk on a bike.

@IW - If it's too far with the bike then there is only one choice: don't bring the bike

is it pretty obvious where to go from the ubahn? The website tells which exit to take, are further directions needed?

Head towards the swimming pool and keep going. Its on the right. I reckon its about 250 meters away from the ubahn stop.

I have faith that you people know what you're talking about, this is my last beer garden until I can afford a plane ticket (that is, unless I can build myself a raft that can cruise across the atlantic with whatever money I have left from student loans).
