Crawlie
The choice has not yet been made. Jeez, some politician you would be...

Oh no! I am losing! Best give up now then before I have a chance to rally support!

Now, to start using my new vocabulary that will help me over the coming months - Chill out duuuuuuuude!!

I like band wagons. Especially the won that U2 used during the Joshua Tree tour for their spontaneous and free concerts. Wagons used by bands... Kewwwwwllllll

Nope, just thought there might have been, at the least, some small discussion before the choice was made and everyone piled on the band wagon...

In fairness the voting is still open as far as I know. As Ed Bob said, it gets set to wherever the majority ask for. Of course that doesn't mean that people aren't free to go absolutely wherever they wish. It's just that previous weeks have descended into a free-for-all with basically every person suggesting their own personal favourite and nobody making a final decision. This gives it a democratic edge and everyone has equal opportunity to get their say in. A clean and clear decision can be made in sufficient time and it can be organised properly.
Kza
@smuglarz geez you give up early i would have voted for your choice but its gone now... A lot can change before 11am tomorrow...

I like the new system.
bern
QUOTE (Kza @ Jun 26 2006, 12:53 pm) *
I like the new system.

ditto. This is much better than everyone getting miffed at each other at 17:00 on Tuesday evening because no decision has been made. Democracy, when it works, is a wonderful thing.
Topsy
@smuglarz - just come to the augiekeller, and don't be such a spoilsport, chucky egg
it'll be a different crowd from the one that was there on friday, innit, so you'll get to make some nice new friends smile.gif
Jules Winnfield
My glorious white ass will be there, with my ho in tow (probably).
pootle
What time are peoeple getting there? Its not fair on a Tuesday afternoon and I have to be in the office until 1730 sad.gif(

P
sarabyrd
@ Crawlie: Whereabouts are you thinking of setting up camp? Or do you have the inflateable cactus yet so we can find you easily?
Kza
Is it going to be a soccer watching thing or a normal tt tuesday?
cinzia
I could do without the soccer, too, Kza. Don't care about the game and don't want to be in the middle of the scrum trying to get near the screen.
Keydeck
There are two large screens in the Augustiner. If you are going there early I'd suggest trying to set up shop near the middle of the garden, that way those who want to watch the footie can still see it and those who don't won't be overly bothered by it.
jml
how late yous going to be there?
Crawlie
Prolly til 11 or so
SmugLarz
OK, so I was a bit of tit ™ in a King Canute stylee yesterday, silly me. rolleyes.gif

So I expect I'll pootle along tonight, thing is AK is a BIG place , so who'll be turning up early and what inflatable thingy/person wrapped in cellophane/flag will you be using to attract TTer's attention (or more easily whereabouts will you be sitting)

PS Can anyone tell me why the the page for the Augustiner Kellar says

Arnulfstr. 52, City Center
U/S-Bahn Hauptbahnhof

when it's a whole lot closer to the Hackerbrücke stop on the S-bahn (1 block as opposed to 4 or 5)
sarabyrd
I will be wrapped in an American flag, that might help in finding TT.
rubber duck
yes, could you please put yourself on top of one table biggrin.gif
and make sure to hold a mass in your hand - would be our very own TT statue of liberty smile.gif
sarabyrd
With a game schedule for the World Cup in my left hand!
arshoo
hello hello all I am zuruck,

i see crawlie is still giving the "i am leaving, dont cry for me TT. sniff sniff" speech rolleyes.gif

I'll be there to kick start your journey to the other side of the pool!

The world is going chocolate! - tis me new slogan.
bern
Welcome back Arshoo! We missed you around these parts!
Crawlie

Christ Arshoo. Were you never taught to use condoms???
arshoo
Duh! How do you think we became the 2nd most populous nation! sleep.gif not by using polythene bags for sure!!! tongue.gif

hey bern, nice to be back.

PS - crawlie, you holding a few things for me from the grand sale, bring them along you can?
Crawlie
Blimey arshoo. I shall see what I can do. Should not be too much of a problem I guess

You've only been away for a week. You make rabbits look positively impotent

Actually, this is a good question.
Are there any inflatable thingummys so that people can find you/us?

I mean, I know most folk anyway, but t'would be easier - specially for newbs - if there's some kind of distinguishing feature. I thought you had a blue guitar, or summat? What happened to that?
Keydeck

It died in a tragic strumming accident.
arshoo
I am not inflatable, but sure can get there early and get a girl to try and blow me and see if i inflate.

watch out for that!
Kza
Just to repeat what SmugLarz asked, what is the best way to get there from the U or S Bahns? I remember walking there from the Hauptbahnhof and it wasnt that close, is Hackerbrücke better? Anyone got some primo directions?
Keydeck
I go via Hauptbahnhof and take the tram up Arnulfstr or just walk. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Hbf.
Keydeck
Topsy
Hackerbrücke is deffo nearer than HBF
Or take the tram 16/17 (Richtung: Romanplatz or Amalienburgstr) from HBF or HBF Nord three (or two from HBF Nord) stops up to Hackerbrücke, then you're even nearer. You'll go past the beergarden in the tram (on your right as you're coming from town), so just walk back, turn into the first little road on your left (Zirkus-Krone-Str) and the back entrance to the beer garden is there on the right about 50 yards up. Sorted.
Jeeves
Well Hackerbrücke is just off Keydeck's pic to the left. So if you're already on the S-Bahn I'd say get off there, walk north down off the bridge, turn right and bingo.
sarabyrd
The sky is looking fairly threatening. Any inside plans, Crawlie?

Here we go!

I´ll be there under the tree tongue.gif

Keydeck
Would suggest perhaps calling them and making an inside reservation. There're a lot of people signed up so it'd be a shame to let it slide altogether. I can't make the call at this moment myself.
bern
I just called...they are not taking reservations for tonight.
3 Lions
Didnt think they would.
sarabyrd
Technicality: They are taking no more reservations as they are full.
Brainstorming time: Any other suggestions for inside/outside venues? Parkcafé for example
Topsy
hmmm - thunder is rumbling over the skies of Neuhausen as I type...
might not be such a good location after all
SmugLarz
If it's shite weather when I leave work then I'll be heading for the pool hall at Ostbahnhof...
oli2000
There's always enough room downstairs in the cellar at Augustinerkeller.

Also, the storm will have well passed by tonight.
Katrina
Depends on when folk leave work - it may not have passed for some of us.
Downstairs is an option but no mobile signals if that's important to some.
The Augustiner Bräustube could be another option in the area.
sarabyrd
I tried the Hofbräukeller as well - full.
Jeeves
It's pissing down right now. So in 3 hours it will be gone.
Katrina
You might leave work in 3hrs, not all of us do! Will prob still be like this when I finish sad.gif

If not the Franziskaner in town has capacities. Perusastrasse, across from Max-Josephs-Platz.
EDIT: NOT Medusastrasse - been to too many picture galeries last week.
Topsy
these things never last too long, though, thinking about it
what time were folk planning on turning up at the beergarden?

the air will be lovely and fresh in a bit when this has all blown over
Jeeves
I was going on the

on the sign-up page. Not totally reliable perhaps.
bern
I haven't given up hope for the beer garden but I wasn't planning on going until 7 or so... I HOPE it's over by then and that there aren't any residual sprinkles.

I like to think of it as across the street from Tiffany's! smile.gif

I´m for sticking with the plan. the crap weather tracker shows it moving out in about 1.5hrs.
