Where did my post go, supporting bluedave's suggestion of Hofbraeukeller?
TBFB even quoted it, and it's not on the thread anymore.
I really don't mind, Augustiner or Hofbraeu, but I'm worried about my poor post, wandering lonely and afraid in Cyberspace.

Augustiner-Keller Arnulfstraße is a cool beergarden, plus, I haven't been there this year yet. Might be a problem to find people though - the place is huge.

Let's finalize this. I vote for Augustiner Keller for the following reasons:
1) It's almost 14:30 and we don't have a spot.
2) It might rain it might shine -- AK gives us options for beergarden seating or indoor seating.
3) I've never been and I need a beer.

May 16 2006, 1:28 pm
Yes Elf, but that's for later on.
Usually if the weather is nice people locate in the general vicinity of the Steckerlfisch stall. If you are entering at the front of the beer garden that's over the far opposite side...near the rear entrance. It's a relatively easy place to find people and it's got closest access to beer, food and toilets.
Note: The beer garden is split into two areas, all tables near the front are a service area and so you are at the mercy of the staff. In the back area you look after yourself, if much more preferable option.
Can't comment on inside locations really as it's been a couple of years.
Mr Brain, why are you voting for Augustiner when the decision had already been made?

Or were you just voicing approval rather than submitting a vote of some sort.

I can see how the name and link in the first post could be troublesome
Augustiner on ArnulfstrArnulfstr. 52
Tel. 089 594393
Easiest routes:
S-Bahn to Hackerbrücke and about a 2 minute walk.
Tram 16 or 17 and get off at Hopfenstrasse or Hackerbrücke .
Hauptbahnhof and a little under 10 minutes mosy up Arnulfstr.
When If it rains there's the indoors area and you'll need to come up with something creative for how to get everyone to meet up.

Fair play.
In my defence it wasnt there when this thread was 3 pages long before it got chopped by a mod.
But now i know which place you are talking about i will have to say im not going. I went there a couple of weeks back had a maß and one of those lumps of burnt pig thingys (with nothing else) and it cost me over 16€.
So na, think im gonna go meet bluedave and get my maß for 4.60€

Thought it was clear that if it's raining we go in the cellar of Augustiner-Keller, it's why the location was chosen.

Ok a small rant here but is anyone "in charge" of this Tuesday Drinks thing?
It seems to me it would be good if someone were so that they could organize it well in advance and more importantly work out a special with the place that is chosen. I would assume that anyone bringing a party of 25 or 30 people would be able to work something out.
I am not trying to be a smart ass here but just really wondering who is running this thing?

I just think things have gone to rat shit over the last few weeks because TTT no longer has the regular meets at the Arc and
GM's and making more than two decisions a month is a bit difficult.

@ BlueDave

No, that's not true as such. Here's a quick history...
TT Tuesday was always held in Günther Murphy's. Every Tuesday, same time same bat channel.
Then a period happened whereby it was at a different place every week. I organised a number of these.
The Arc came on the scene and it was decided to split it up between there, Murphy's and alternate locations. So every second week it would alternate between
GMs & the Arc.
In Summer the preference is usually for a beergarden, but you are at the mercy of the weather. See: Out window.
Generally speaking if someone makes a suggestion which isn't completely dumb and sets it up then this becomes the location for that week. The problems arise through indecision and excessive faffing. You get 4 or 5 people suggesting their favourite location, but nobody willing to make a stand and say, "This is what's happening.". Either through not wishing to offend or through plain laziness you generally get nobody taking charge. I'm a big fan of benevolent dictatorships.

@ Cinzia, Yup on corner of Balanstr and St Cajetanstr. Not looking to create a Curry Wars situation here though
Crawlie
May 16 2006, 3:20 pm
I hear that TT is currently searching for a full time "Tuesday Drinks Night" organiser. This person will be responsible for:
- checking out the locations
- making sure there are no private parties on the nights we choose
- sleeping with the owners of the establishments (I believe they call it "Getting into bed" with them or something)
- ensuring a variety of drinks specials are arranged for the between 10 and 30 people who may show up
- taking a roll call to ensure those that signed up are there
- ejecting any "latecomers" who did not sign up
- performing a review of each location based on a set of fixed criteria
- issuing warnings and banning orders to those who sign up and then fail to show without giving the obligatory 24 hours notice of cancellation
Should be up and running shortly...
But I do enjoy the discussions on where it is going to be held. Makes the day less boring

I don't think anyone really wants to go to the Augustiner Keller if there's no chance of the beer garden though, am I right?
fletch
May 16 2006, 3:21 pm
I understand about today... When the schedule is made in advance and it is an outside event and it is raining on that day then a post by the HNC (sorry if I offend) of the alternate locale is all that would be necessary.
My question is still does anyone know who used to plan these TTT things?

Thunder and lightning here at the other side of the Hackerbrücke from the Augustinerkeller. If you are going inside, it may be an idea to post it up here as the cellar is too deep for mobile reception.
