Reading the Reviews, shows that this place may infact suck, and a new location maybe needed.
Quotes From Review)
QUOTE
I went upstairs to visit the little boys room and saw a bearded bloke sitting on a high stool with one hand being waved around dramatically whilst reading from his book. I glanced around the corner to see the assembled throng and it was just three people. Two rather large ladies nodding appreciatively (I suspect drugs myself) and a bloke who looked like he had taken a wrong turn on his way to the loo but was too embarrassed to say anything.
There is no food served at Die Bank. However, you can get a menu from the Asian place around the corner. Pop over and order whatever you want and they’ll bring it to the pub when it’s ready.
Would I go back? Probably wouldn’t choose it for a night out myself.
Not a g*y bar (is in the g*y quarter), but has its fair share of the non-intrusive sort, unless you count "hi do you like girls? We're g*y, but we've got a girl who would like to meet a guy tonight" as instrusive. I don't Nice.
So from that, I don't think I'll be going anywhere near this place..

not up for a literary reading?
didn't they do a TTT there awhile ago? i remember seeing it on here... perhaps it was only suggested.

yeah, we did a TTT there a bit ago
that review was from keydeck, but everyone else seemed to like it
when they do literary stuff, then it's always in the room upstairs - downstairs they have a DJ playing music
it's actually quite good fun laughing at the art work in there sometimes
it's a great place
here's a piccie of some of the art on display from when we went there on a GBV night-out last autumn - an S&M nun, what more could you want

Just to clarify, the quoted text is not entirely from me and the parts which I did say are taken in isolation from some other positive points. The comments regarding whether or not it is a gay bar were not from me. Actually the person said g*y so it's possible they meant a guy bar which would perhaps be like one of those Turkish sports bars. Never a woman to be found in those places.
Also, whilst I did say, "
Would I go back? Probably wouldn’t choose it for a night out myself.", the full quote should actually be used. I said, "
Would I go back? Probably wouldn’t choose it for a night out myself but wouldn’t object too much if invited along to something there.".
Die Bank is not really for me but as I said in my
review of the place, I would, at some point, go back to give it another shot. Better to read all of what I wrote about the place and not just base a decision on the isolated comments.

well, apologies to keydeck - i just remembered the first 3 paragraphs as being from your review (and so i didn't bother to look it up, soz)
i did think it wasn't really like you to type g*y, i must admit

and flippin eck, DK, there are loads of positive comments on the review page about the service, atmosphere etc - dunno really why you chose to pick out the only negative sentences

Sorry, but for me the cons outway the goods with this place.. They don't even have food.. WTF This just isn't a place I'd go. People should read the full review and make-up their own mind...

Fair enough, but please say that if only partially quoting me.
On the food, the one or two meals I saw that evening didn't look the best but it was quite cheap and although I wouldn't be too keen to have to go elsewhere to order, for many that wouldn't be a bother.

Wow an actual discussion for a Tuesday evening.
DK - dont complain about the suggestions people are making without throwing your own into the pot.
FWIW, I like the bank. There are lots of great places around it to grab quick food. They serve augustiner helles, and schneider weiss beer. The bar service there is excellent. You choose where you go. The bank isnt a cellar bar and I reckon a good choice for a tuesday.
Bring on the beer garden season

Oh well DK, its too late but
Sausalitos - Its too dark, smokey and the service sucks
Outland - A nice idea, but better when the trams around
Ostbahnhof are all fixed up.
Tapas - dont know it
Bar Muenchen - dont know it

Hey,
I have just arrived from australia...what are these tuesday TT drinks like?
Was thinking of popping in as I live quite close to Die Bank (or is it definately not there now ??)
If anyone that is going can fill me in on what to expect that would be great.
PS. I am 23 and work full time as and engineer, but do love a wine or 5.

Just go into it expecting an average session of Bacchanalian proportions followed by, and oftimes accompanied by, an orgy of such fervour that it would make Caligua blush.
Or failing that you could read a teensy bit of what has previously been written about Toytown Tuesday and draw your own conclusions as to what one might expect from an evening in a bar on a Tuesday night with a group of people, some of whom know each other very well and others, such as your good self, who are showing up for the very first time. I mean it's not like you're gonna be spit roasted within five minutes of entering the place.
Whether you go with the full-on Roman festival including grapes and strap-ons or just a few quiet chilled beverages with some like-minded souls, you'll most likely have a good time. Just go along with an open mind to meeting a few new people and you'll be fine.

I'll be along for a couple this week. Anyone fancy heading to
The Arc straight from work?
On another note, should the 2nd May be a good day for weather, I suggest ahead of time the
Augustiner Beer Garden on Anrulfstrasse. Its my personal favourite and for some unknown reason I didnt go there at all last year.

Apart from being TT Tuesday at
The Arc tomorrow, it's also Anzac Day. As such, there will be a meat pie special. Wine Girl will be hosting an Aussie wine tasting. We also managed to get some Bundaberg rum, and I'll look at getting some more Aussie beers. Hope to see you there...

Just been handed this from a secret source!
Instead of the Augustiner Beer Garden, I think next week we should opt for the Hofbräu Keller Beergarden at the Wiener Platz as it has its “first week of May special again.
1 Mass Beer for 3,00 Euros
½ Hendl for 2,00 Euros
1 large Brezn for 1,50 Euros
Cheap Maß, cheap chicken, cheap bretzen, cheap night...BIG Hangover!!
If the weather aint to great, we can head indoors. Plus for those that dont want beer, there is a Suasalitos there if anyone wants a cocktail and I am pretty sure they have a happy hour.
