TT Tuesday drinks - discussion archive

For anyone who doesn't know:

Once you make your order, we toss a coin. If you win the toss, then the drink is free. If you lose, then you pay the normal price.

It's on normally - Mondays to Thursdays until 6-7pm. Extended tonight until 8pm...

Cool. This might be the first Tuesday that I show up before 8; a perfect oportunity to pay for drinks I owe

Since this will be my first TT Tuesday Drinks Night, I was just wondering what time people normally show up... or what time people are planning to show up tonight. Considering the possibility to obtain free drinks ends at 8, I'm assuming it would be in my best interest to arrive before 8.

I have played toss the boss 5 times. I am 0 and 5!

I think people start showing up around 7. Some show up even earlier.
The one time I went around 7:30, there wasn't a big crowd yet.
But with the "toss the boss" thing, I would say that if you go around 7:30, you'll find a good crowd today.

was gonna be there but my boss has just informed me that he wants me on the early flight to Hamburg tomorrow

even then would normally have chanced my arm but he gonna be joining me he says and Augustiner fumes at 8 in the morning prob not conducive to a long contract

bluedave, I meant to mention on the other thread that it was great to meet you last night at the comedy club. Sorry you can't make it out tonight but I concur with your observation on "Augustiner fumes."

If you have access to Tram 27 then just get off at Schellingstrasse. From there it is just a couple of minutes walk to The Arc. No chance of getting lost.

But roots, clearly you have missed the point. I am retarded. Was headed home in the cab last night and told the driver to turn left when my building was on the right. I suck at directions. I am directionally challenged. But clepto and I will sort it out I'm sure.

Thanks roots. Actually after I figure out the exit from the U-bahn station, I usually find my way there.
I sometimes get lost on te way back home from The Arc, I wonder why...

just entertaining thoughts of just coming down for a "couple" but i know damn well i have the breaking strain of a kitkat and would end up getting home at 2 in the morning and frantically swallowing toothpaste, mints or anything else to kill the beer fumes

Sorry to the nice lady in the pink sweater who I did really mean to get back and chat with, I was just in the middle of a tete-a-tete at that second.

Thumbs down to Johnny English for buying me alcohol and making me stay far later than intended. But thumbs up to him and Gideon (no Gids here) for the interesting biz idea and being so kind as to ask for my feedback of another. I doubt I was of much use, but it was nice to be asked.

Glad to be able to tell Sin exactly what I thought of him and good to have a short but great chat with Toronto. Plus all the other honestly good convos I had with people. Very little in terms of wasted breath that evening.

I must get rid of my 7:30 in the morning Wednesday class so I can more often enjoy all of your company.

Had a great night! Good to meet some newbies! Sorry I didnt mingle a bit more...I did try though

Another good night on the town. Finally got to meet Johnny English. I had some good conversations and t'was nice meeting everyone again. But by god do I hate Wednesday mornings...

I had no idea you fancied me that much Showem.

A most enjoyable evening. We arrived in a bit late (just after nine). Didn't get to speak to everyone I wanted to but think I said hi to most.

The darts was fun, evening though I proved that I am pretty much incapable of hitting anything except 15. Not sure about the meanie boys who claimed the turf but you get that everywhere.

Got told that I was a disappointment in person by one individual because she expected me to be ranting and raving and abusing everyone. Ach, I can't be doing that all the time. Need to be friendly on occasion.

Anyway, cheers to another good Tuesday night out.

Yep. Twas good last night. Especially because I could do one of my 'turning up unexpected' numbers. Met a lot of faces for the first time. I'm still convinced that AnthonyinEurope is coolerking's twin brother. GeorgiaGirl was good to meet for the first time. Sorry I didn't get to speak to you Saan, Deco was pumping me for sordid details on my dark past.

Must echo all the above sentiments. I gave a big welcome-back hug to Exile, more hugs to Chicago (chin up old chap!), exchanged KVR horror stories with mrbrain, commiserated with 3Lions, gave a knowing smirk to Sin, fended off streeme, learned about darts from Hazza et al, and just generally had a jolly old time.

yes, last night was fab
it was good to see some familiar old faces - specially Johnny English, who doesn't make it into Munich anywhere near often enough
and to meet some nice new (to me) faces

there were tons and tons of people there, as well
hazza must have been rubbing his hands with glee

Sounds like I missed a good night, oh well have to make up for it at curry night tonight.

Oh yeah, and I met Chicago and Johnny English (He's a big bugger to be knockin' out frilly undies, ain't he?)

Heck, I thought Chicago was a chick.
