This Tuesday (19.Jul.2005) will be at the Paulaner Bräuhaus at Kapuziner Platz 5. That's two stops on the U-Bahn south of Marienplatz.

Get there from 7pm. It's quite a large place, but not unfathomably huge (like the Chinese Tower) so you should be able to find us. Just walk around listening for English speakers. When you find an English speaking group, be sure to ask if they're TT. I heard of an incident a month or two ago when a newbie showed up at a bar - found a group of English speakers, introduced themselves, sat down, had a great evening, but only at the end of it did they realise the group wasn't TT!!! Bizarre but true. The group didn't even know what TT was.

Curiously enough Gregor Schiegl a journalist with the Süddeutsche Zeitung will likely be there. He's researching an article about "The TT Phenomenon". He wants to know what the English speaking residents of Munich think about our adopted home city and the people here. So if you've ever wanted to rant and rave about stuff you really love and hate about this place, and get it published in a national newspaper, this is your chance! Gregor has already read the online posts. Now he wants to hear the story from you in person. You can see Gregor's previous articles. If you don't want to talk to him, you by no means have to!!!







Directions: Take the U-Bahn, either U3 or U6 to the stop Goetheplatz (2 stops south of Marienplatz). Take the U-Bahn exit towards Kapuzinerstrasse. Walk 2 blocks along Kapuzinerstrasse till you get to Kapuzinerplatz. The beer hall is then on the corner on your left - the beer garden is through the back.

Günther Murphy's Irish Pub in Schwabing host karaoke every Sunday night. Many TT readers frequently attend but a common complaint is they get differential treatment from the other regulars there.

So this coming Tuesday Günther's have offered to lay on a karaoke special just for you. Tuesdays are also cocktail nights with all their cocktails and shots at half price.

If the weather is fine the meet-up could start off outside. Or inside if it's wet. The karaoke will then get started at between 10 and 11pm, i.e. once everyone's vocal cords have been well watered.

The karaoke will be hosted by Crawlie.

Didn´t they run out of bier yesterday? I saw it as a headline this morning on the way to work. I think it was the same. Assuming that they have restocked, I will be there with one.

This place is great. Their unfiltered helles is, as keydeck would say, "the dog's bollocks."

Pardon my beer ignorance but what is an unfiltered Helles? I only ever just order normal Helles. What is the difference??

Heard on the charivari this morning that the beer ran out there yesterday - unbelievable or what Let's hope they have replenished stocks for tonight for all you thirsty people!!

Unfiltered helles has sediment in it like a Weissbier but without the wheat of a Weissbier. As far as I understand it's like the helles you'd get from Paulaner normally except it is served prior to the filtering and bottling process.

As usual Pootle is on the ball and has posted the story in "Munich news" for anyone who's interested!

I've just called, they have beer again, and it was only Helles they'd run out of and it was 10:30 Sunday night anyway, a half hour before closing time. I'll post on the other thread too.

7 have said they'll come.

So space has been reserved for 10 people.

i'm new in town, i only got in yesterday but somebody in an irish bar told me about Toytown and said it was a cool thing to do so i joined up!! is this going ahead?? i think i might go, if i can find it, i got lost last night trying to find the Hofbrauhaus do i need to pay??

i think i might stay here for the summer and get a job, this city rocks!! i've met loads of people already (there are some really cute germans and irish here )
