all together now!
Bring back! Bring Back!
Bring back Günther Murphy's to me!
actually, i have nothing against GMs, quite like the place but many people have also commented on the fact that we always go to the same places week in week out. I, personally, like a little rotation myself. TT Tuesday doesn't have to be in GMs every Tuesday but i don't see why it was removed from the Timetable completely.

Well, I'm a newbie and I'm going to attempt to go tomorrow. That is if I can find the place and find all of you. So if you see a petite blond who looks lost (yes...I know that doesn't happen often..hehe), that would be me.

Given that my eastern Munich visa has not expired I shall attempt to find the place for a drink. And only one, so if anyone catches me even thinking of ordering a second then please stop me.

We also offered a free first drink.

For those that have commented about finding the place, scroll back to post #4. There is a link there with a very detailed map of how to get there from either U4/5 Max-Weber-Platz (about 400m walk up Ismaningerstrasse) or Tramstop 18 (which is right next to it actually).

I'm not saying the newbies are having problems. Just wanting to make sure they weren't is all.
Hey guys this is a newbee here and I attended my first TT meetup at he Twisted Bavaria. There was absolutely no problem in finding the venue as directions were well mentioned. Also thanks 2 u guys for making us feel at ease in he party. People who were there also raised a few toasts for the newbees.
Also Katrina count me in for today.

Hi Munich1107. Scroll back to the begiining of the thread and you will find a link of how to get there. I went round there yesterday about 7:30pm and it was faily empty, so the chances of Newbies finding the group are good.
And for Inflatablewomen: there is an excellent Indian just down the road, so if you get hungry, no need to "borrow" bicycles to go hunting for food!

Hi, I'm a newbie at TT and just doing my first post!
I was at Twisted Bavarian on Saturday and was positively surprised how open minded people were. I'm looking forward to participate tonight, and I don't expect difficulties in finding you guys - after all this is just a pub, not the Hirschgarten Biergarten! See ya, Felix

Isar (as did the minipup), but it was WAY too much of a haul for me on a weeknight. a swift one at mollys on the way home made a nice end to the evening.

Isar was okay, but I see no reason to go there again. Molly's is much better for an east-end meet-up. Easier for all to get to, and always a nice atmosphere.

For tuesday night drinks I wouldnt recommend that place again. It was a very nice place to go...but when u have a small quite group
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 12 2005, 9:31 am
it was certainly different from the usual ex-pat pseudo-irish or "international" bars. must have been quite a culture shock for some people.
I likeed the place except for one thing: no draught beer and only piddly little bottles. (didn't know this myself till i got there). this is reason enough, i think, to make it inappriate for a drinking session.

We got to Molly's alot (yummy chips!) as it 's so close to where we live so I liked taking the opportunity to visit a different bar. Can't do drinking sessions during the week so I didn't mind too much that there was no draught beer and only taster size bottles, but I can understand if it put a few people off. Breaking out of the usual ex-pat pub circuit every now and again for a TT Tuesday still gets my vote.

Isar was okay and certainly different from the normal places. I was only there for a quick couple at the start but did notice one thing: 20+ of us are sitting in a cocktail bar. All but 3 are drinking beer. That has to tell us something...
I agree that it's good to break out of the expat circuit though.

I have to echo some of these sentiments. The place wasn't too good for a larger group (all seated at one LONG table). Not very good for mingling.
Also, the beer was served in tiny glasses. WTF? I moved here for half and full litres, not .3 L

tahts why some of us stood up and went over to the bar, we thought people would mingle - wrong!!
as to the bier size, they should tar and feather the owner. but the barstaff were really good and down to earth, i thought they might do a dickiefit with so many "un schickie mickie" people.
may i make a suggestion. who ever reccomends a ar also cheks before hand that the biers come in sizes useful to people who can hold their alcohol (NOT KATRINA

)
didn't have much of a problem with the place, it simply isn't a bar catered towards expads as all the other TTT bars are, so don't expect it to be the same. As for the beer, 3x0.3 is still a liter and a becks once in a while doesn't taste too bad.

vdb do not open a bar.
to be fair the uy at the bar kept refilling my glass all the time so at the end of the day who cares. nice bar but dont drink at the tables.
OW no bad done. trying something new is part of it all...

Jan 12 2005, 6:26 pm
Yes. Service was fine to good, beer tasted okay (at least it didn't have a chance to get warm), room to mingle was there but not everyone took advantage. So I agree, no bad done, just a lesson learnt. I don't hear anyone screaming that they had a crap time.
On the other hand no newbie has posted that they had a fantastic time either, so maybe they were scared off
