Cheers!

Well unfortunately me and Inflatablewoman went on a tour of Munich to find an open Indian / Mcds / Burger King... with not luck. I'm not sure how but this ended up with us "borrowing" a bike, eating some minging semmel burger and taking 2 taxis to get home.
Good night then all in all.

Tomorrow's Toytown Tuesday Drinks will be in Haidhausen/Bogenhausen
Place:
Rechts der Isar, Ismaningerstrasse 48
Time: whenever you get there (most people tend to turn up around 7pm)
How to get there:
Tram 18, stop Friedensengel
U4/5, stop Max-Weber-Platz then a short (400m) walk up Ismaningerstrasse
Here is a map of the MVV-stops for U-4/5 Max-Weber-Platz and Tram 18 Friedensengeland it goes without saying, NEWBIES ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

now that we're not doing GM's anymore and can't specify to meet at the well there, etc., I'm wondering if recent newbies have had any difficulty locating the group and meeting people at the new venues? Any newbies care to comment? After all, the whole point of the Tuesday is to make it easy for them to meet up, not the rest of us. Just wondering.

I was talking to a couple of people about this over the weekend - maybe the blue inflatable guitar (or similar) needs to make a reappearance?

it took me a few attempts also to meet Toytowners when I was a newbie. Anyone got any suggestions how to make it easier? (maybe split this thread)

I'm not saying the newbies are having problems. Just wanting to make sure they weren't is all.

My first TT event was in the beer garden in the English Garden. Sure, having looked at pictures first might have helped but would not have made too much difference in a place that large. The blue guitar worked immediately. I agree with Katrina.

For TT tuesdays at
The Arc the bar people know to point newbies to the Toytown crowd if they ask or look lost.

I liked the blue guitar and am certainly not a newbie. I am, however, daft and too vain to wear my specs ha ha
There was a whole discussion last year about the blue guitar replacement but I'm not sure what happened. Any ideas?

The only other TT'er with an inflatable guitar (Green if I remember rightly) is Photojenny. Though she may not want to give up her air guitar career?
Katrina
Jan 10 2005, 1:10 pm

Something like this would do as well.
Does photojenny still have that green one? She's got better things to do these days (such as eat the best Yorkshire pudding in the world made by a certain gent).
This reminds me, I have to start thinking about this haggis lark...

A little bird told me they stopped giving us the free beer tokens 'cos it wasn't worth their while.
Presumably these random 'every third week' places don't give us those either though?
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 10 2005, 3:48 pm
on rotation. nothing happened to GMs. The plan has (for a long time now) been one week GMs, the next week the Arc, the following week TB and then SOMEWHERE DIFFERENT.
Well folks, this week is somewhere different! Don't worry! all you folks that are resistant to change GMs will be back soon!

Jan 10 2005, 3:49 pm
GM's will still off the first 20 drinks 'On the House' between 5pm and 7pm. Providing of course that we are going to have TT Tuesdays there in the future. Its just that we dont go every week anymore.
BTW what is the offer from the 'other' bars?

@ OG - look at the schedule put down by editor bob - GM's is not there
Katrina
Jan 10 2005, 3:51 pm
No it bleeding won't. GMs weren't making cash on it.
First the free beers went, then the happy hour so GMs isn't on the TTMTuesday rota now because they weren't making enough cash off it.
Which you can see if you read the first post on this thread posted by Editor Bob.
Owain Glyndwr
Jan 10 2005, 3:51 pm
oops! sorry missed that! didn't really read it cos i thought it was the same timetable as last time.
Maybe it has something do with the fact that GMs don't pay any advertising money to EditorBob like
The Arc and Twisted Bavarain do.
Katrina
Jan 10 2005, 3:54 pm
Well GMs were making money, a lot of money, last winter (which was possibly due to the fact that at least 5 of us always turned up at 5pm and stayed a while).
Moving the venue lost some of the special status, so you win some and you lose some. If TTM went back regularly (the summers were always beer garten events but GMs in case of rain) then the 20 free beers probably would come back too (the incentive to the early doors folk).
Ah but life was much simpler then, it was all fields around here and you young 'uns don't know anything about the price of cheese.

Too true Katrina, too true.
As most people know, I am a big fan of GM's, its where I met pretty much all my friends on TT and its where we have had some memorable nights. It's my local(Well 40 minutes to get there), it has the best service and the best bar staff by far. Personally I would like to see Tuesdays go back here, but hey thats just me!
