Hi All,
I have spoken to the Manager and he will reserve an area for us. I initially said around 20 people, maybe a bit more or less.
I have reserved the area for 7.30pm.
He did ask if we were a rowdy bunch.
See you there!

The first "Irish Pub" in
Haidhausen. Situated directly behind the Hilton Hotel on the Rosenheimer Str. and just 5 minutes walk from the Rosenheimer-S-Bahn-Station.
"Molly's" has a great mix of ages and nationalities and a seat at the long bar is a very coveted place. A large whiskey selection and Irish food are also available.
Occasionally live music is also an offer. Altogether "Molly's" is one of Munich's friendliest Irish Pubs.

Molly's is the 1st Pub I discovered when I moved here. Very friendly place indeed. Service is always good here.
I will pop in after my German. Not been for a long time.

mollys has windows!!! and i haven't been ther in ages may make it...

Nov 4 2004, 5:29 pm
Damn! I can't make it

Molly's is fab, not only because of the window aspect (although that is a big plus).
Someone mentioned the Shepherd's Pie already, and I will definitely second that as well. If you don't fancy the fish & chips then S.Pie is an excellent alternative.

The Twisted Bavarian is not opening until Wednesday the 10th due to pump man!
So does this mean that Friday is off too?

I remember a shocking service incident in
Molly's a couple of years back. Myself and a mate were there for my first visit to the place and I asked the guy serving our table where the cigarette machine was. He replied, "what are you looking for and I'll get them for you.". Nearly fell off my chair I did.

Yes, Friday is off too. Boo to the square root of hiss... oh well the good news is we get a new pump. better if stuff breaks now while we have it covered. I'll be at Molly's most likely as I've been Jonesin' for S.pie for too long.
Count me and my better half (mellelisa) in as well. We are TT newcomers and this will be our first event...

Could it be that it wasn't the service but the beer, Keydeck?
I should probably make it tonight since I will be in town anyway... Anyone got any easy directions or a little map from the S-Bahn station at Rosenheimerplatz?

Click on the Munich Map and enter 'Rosenheimer Platz' you will see Kellerstr, Molly's is on the corner of Milchstr and Kellerstr.

when you get off the train at
Rosenheimerplatz, go toward/exit at the Gasteig. cut through the courtyard there to Kellerstr, turn right, go about half a block and it's on the left. Can't miss it.
Topsy
Nov 9 2004, 12:14 pm
it might be easier not to get lost if you get off at the other end of the train (i.e. the front if you going in direction: Ostbahnhof), then go up Steinstr., turn left into kellerstr.
I always get lost if I try shortcuts, but maybe it's just me...

Nov 9 2004, 1:07 pm

it's a longer walk though.

it's true - it's a longer walk.
but shorter in the long-run if you're prone to getting lost (like me)

I might try joining you guys later, depending on how my study group goes (we are doing flippin' differentiation and all sorts of equations, so I don't think my concentration will really last too long).
How long will you be in Molly's for? Until kicking out time, or will you be zooming off somewhere else?

I am new to Munich and to the TT events. I would like to meet people, but have no idea how these events are handled. Could someone spend a few moments writing what the atmosphere is like, for instance..do you walk in and hear English being spoken and introduce yourself, or is this group a large group of regulars who all know each other and it is better to arrive with someone else?? Just give me a tip as a newcomer. Thanks
Ravski
Nov 9 2004, 3:32 pm
@Topsy,
I dont know. I just made a suggestion about Mollys and people wanted to go so I reserved an area at 7.30. There are no other plans to go elsewhere unless people have any other ideas.

Nov 9 2004, 3:35 pm
@Ravski - Whats the reservation name under?
@brokenm - I reckon we should be in the corner to the right as you walk in, as memory recalls that would be the best spot for our group. But just ask at the Bar for the name that Ravski has booked under.
Or as you said, just look for the large 20+ group of people speaking English, it should be TT. Just come over and join in.
JoolyBooly
Nov 9 2004, 3:38 pm
yes @ BrokenM, you are not the only newbie coming tonight, there are also several people I haven't met despite them being members. It is a very open group and you should be able to just walk in and see the big group as 3lions said.
If in doubt PM me and I could meet up with you before, I aim to get there about 7.45 as I have evening classes next to the
Hauptbahnhof until 7.30.

I reserved an area under the name of Rav. So ask someone at the bar and they will guide you to the area. Its not a big pub anyway. The food is good too if you want a nibble.

oh sorry, @topsy: normally we stay put, as some people come after evening classes so don't arrive until after 9

Thanks for your welcoming invitations. I will try and gather two friends of mine to come along, otherwise I will come in alone as I don't have an exact time that I will be done with work to meet before hand. But I will definitely plan for next week. Hope to meet you all soon!
