Toytown Regulars - After Work Free Beer
Murphy's Irish Pub
Nikolaistrasse (Schwabing - between Giselastrasse and Münchner Freiheit)
http://www.gunther-murphys.com/
This coming Tuesday (16th December) - the usual will happen

Be one of the first 20 Toytowners to arrive at "The Well" (a seating area in the pub) between 5.30pm and 7pm and your first draught beer or cider will be on the house. This week its my turn to hand out the vouchers.
Dress code: None really - express yourself!
Remember that this after-work drinking session is *specifically designed* for new Toytowners. So if you've just joined the webforum today, or if you've been lurking in the shadows for a few weeks, then don't be shy! Come down and see the real people behind the anonymous usernames! Everyone will be there to welcome you.
There will be no free drinks on the 23rd, but feel free to meet amongst yourselves somewhere. If there is enough intrest there might be some free drinks on the 30th. Can you post on this thread if you would like to go then?
Oh, and the magic key phrase for the 16th
"I hope there's no football tonight"

Well, I woke up with a wad of cash in my jacket pocket today! That only means one thing, I owe some people money.
I will get the next round, next time, OK?
When I said "no gifts, just hugs" about my birthday, I was TOTALLY KIDDING by the way.

I've a bit of a heed on me today but it'll pass. Good to see the people last night. Even got to meet the elusive (reclusive?) Mr. Riina.
Did cupid strike TT last night or was it just my imagination? Pizza slices are go!! Might have to start looking for a new hat in January.

Huh?
@keydeck
Once again I am confused. Was there love in Murphy's? I missed it?
That TOTALLY violates my birthday party! The focus should have been me.
OK, who what where and when and what the f is going on?

Privacy, is something I practice.
But now I think it sucks!
Tell, tell, tell.
What is up? Was there romantic music playing? Was it a real love connection? Or just nasty snoggin'? (I like that word)
I miss out on everything! Why does everyone hide things from the beans? Is it because I am the oldest one here? F...

As usual, be at "The Well" (a seating area in the pub - you can't miss it) between 5.30pm and 7pm. The first 20 to arrive will get their first drink (draught beer or cider) on the house. If you can only arrive later, no problem. The group usually hangs around until late (11pm, midnight, maybe even later). The drinks offer only runs until 7pm however.
Find
SparkaHck for the beer vouchers when you arrive.

Dumb Question...as Tuesday is a "school night" what time to people generally knock it on the head? - only 'cos I am having a quick look at train times and trying to avoid wandering the streets at 2am as the snow falls :-)

We tend to leave in dribs and drabs and not all together. I usually end up missing the last
U-Bahn (the beer is to blame as is being unemployed), but not to worry! There are timetables stuck up on the wall in Gunthers incase you lose track of time Johnny English. You sound very sensible.

Thanks for the reply "Wexford". Always nice to be thought of as "sensible" although I guess it goes with old age
Truth is I live out in the sticks so cabs etc ain't an option really.

hmm Wexford, believe me, right now I would prefer the rain, here in Munich, its around minus 6 with snow turning to ice everywhere, and me falling on my arse as often as possible. And forecast for the next couple of days ... getting colder !

I arrive in Munich at noon on Tuesday and would really like to meet up with some people that evening for some beers. Any of you confirmed for the 6th?
If so, how will I recognize you? I'll be the tall & goofy jet-lagged yank.

see you all there.
can't wait to have the same conversation with everyone ("how was your xmas / new year ?") !!!

OK folks, I'll be doing the beer vouchers thing tonight, not Sparky. So here's how you claim:
You find me and say, "Can you buy my arm a beer please?"
I say, "Why can't it buy it's own beer?"
You say, "Because it's broke".
If you're one of the first 20 claimants before 7pm, then you get your first draught beer or cider on the house.
Bottoms up!
Bob.

Sorry I'm not gonna make it to Murphy's tonight

But I'm definetly gonna be there next week!
Have fun tonight.

To anyone who didn't get the joke above. Unfortunately the reason Sparky couldn't do the drink voucher duty is that he's apparently broken both his arms after falling down some stairs. Sorry Sparky. I guess it's no laughing matter really. Hope you get well soon me old China. Toytown sends it's condolences.
