Just in case anyone's interested, there's going to be a band on tonight doing an accoustic set (so you should still be able to chat). It'll be a mix of rock, reggae and African music.
They're starting at around 9pm
Woohoo, I decided to make tonight my first TT tuesday too, (apart from the
Oktoberfest special edition TT Tuesdays). Free beer and the band sounds like the icing on the cake! I will get there around 7:45 though so probably miss out on the free beer.

Well, I just had my first German lesson, and I think I need a beer to soften the confusion... what time will anyone else be getting there, and where do people generally sit? I found the gang at the well last week -- will there be any of the same faces tonight?

ok... well you can see my uber-cheesy photo on my profile. Look for someone a few years older, fatter and slighty more dishevelled than that and pretty tall... I hope I'll be there in time for the free beer!

@benpanter - Are you aware that it is not GM's this week but the The Arc!
You will have no problem finding TT'ers there!

Again a lovely night in the Arc! So many new people, welcome to TT

The Band was good and really added to the atmosphere, which was good anyway.
Yeah band was cool, heaps of Bob Marley covers which was nice. Get them back again Hazza. Shame I had to leave so early.

I could do Nippler. It's close to my gym. Only wish they would change their cringe inspiring name. I could never tell someone in public that I am "off to Nippler".

Had a nice time with the TT´rs at Outland´s last night, The food was great, prices good. Service was good also. But why was the tabasco diluted with Branntweinessig? Is it to tone it down? Save bucks? What´s with that?
take care,

Vinegar is a normal ingredient of tabasco sauce.
http://www.cooking.com/advice/adgloss.asp?...gr&Item=TabascoI doubt Outland put extra in.
I just had an idea though. Perhaps the german version of it has more vinegar, less hot peppers for the german taste? I know most domestic brands of sauce that have "hot" or "feurig sharf!!" on the label are an absolute joke.

Service was good also
no it bloody wasn't! they refused to bring a crippled guy a beer to his table. Instead he had to send his manservant Jeeves to go get them.
Yeah that was a shocker! It wasnt as if they were particularly busy. What was her excuse? I was about to say that was my first example of terrible german service that everyone keeps mentioning, but it wasnt a german bar and I dont think the waitress was german either was she?

FYI - The outland has never had table service.

Oct 20 2004, 7:17 pm
Maybe they don't have table service for drinks but OW was stuck behind the table with crutches and it seemed like a reasonable request to me. Not that I minded doing the fetching of course.
Methinks the waitress was German (deduced from listening to her talk German whilst I was sitting at the bar waiting for the someone else to turn up).
Wish I'd gone for the food though, it looked good and I was starving this morning.

@ Owain Glyndwr, The service I meant that was good, was from the TTr´s themselves, Jeeves the "table shifter" rocked!
@ Kza, Tabasco that soaks into the bread and leaves a pink stain that tastes like wine vinegar with Tabasco hints aint Tabasco it should not be in a bottle that is labeled as Tabasco. Tabasco is always the same no matter the country. It´s wrong I tellya!

, BTW, I am an expert. and amazingly Moko is also and she will back me up on this.
@ mothbola, Table service for drinks or food? She was passin out burgers tableside like a mean sexy machine designed for the task. He was on crutches FCS (though one could not see it if he was sitting on them), She actually stated that if she brought him one then we would all want the same. She was out of touch. I don´t think any of us would break a leg just to get tableside service even if was for Bier.
@ Moko, back me up please, Next is on me.
@ Outland, I thank ya for the nice evening, great food, but don´t mess with the Tabasco, I sit here with a 20+ bottles of a variety of hot sauces from around the world. and this verges on criminal to the pepper sauce connoisseur. I like your food and will bring my own hotsauce next time or even better i can intro you to the dynamic, tasty world of Hot sauces (connoisseurship), I do have reputable references on this at your (or anybody´s) request. Compliments with criticisms alway suck. I hate when that happens (especially to me).
Take care all,
space
Wasnt saying you are wrong about the tabasco Space, If outland poured extra vinegar into it that is indeed sacrilige, and could perhaps even be illegal (food labelling laws etc). We should investigate. (Drifting slightly off topic. Just bought a bottle of Kimball Hot Sauce, made in Saudi Arabia yesterday, I like it. Rather similar to tabasco, and costs only 95c for a 88ml bottle. Perhaps if Outland are tampering with their tabasco to save money, we could suggest them something cheaper)

Having it with your breakfast, are you Kza? Having trouble picturing you cooking up a hot breakfast on a Thursday. Perhaps you just spread it over bread.
It was a hot Wednesday dinner (chicken and rice, bought the chicken from the kiosk over the road, but cooked the rice all by myself!) , now its a cold Thursday breakfast. And yes, I am having it with that sauce. Yummmm
