oh, just to clarify, the training run will be more like 7-8 km, not 10 km.

cool idea! but you won't catch me doing anything as energetic as running 7-8km! I'd much rather run after a ball.

Does anyone know the weather tomorrow? I'll be at the rugby pitch (is it a pitch or a field?) at 7:30. if no one shows up to jog with me, I may even see what this damn sport is about.

yep. Yesterday Antenna Bayern promised me this fine weather until at least Tuesday (tomorrow)

is there a way for a lazy newbie to avoid all the sweaty frolics and just come along to enjoy a few beers? (not a slob really, just plan to go to gym before hand, then come along. ahem, honest )

everyone should just bring Augustiner, Obatzer, Brezen even if they don't wanna play touch, the boozing can start on the sidelines.

I'd say for those that don't wanna play come along at 6:30 ish anyway and start the fun.

Bring something to sit on (towel, blanket), a sweater for when it gets cold, various candles (optional - tea lights work well), something to drink and whatever you want to eat.

Basically just a Bring your own stuff, whatever needs you might have... I'll be keeping it pretty simple (towel, candles, wine, maybe a brezn). Should be fun!

erm, daft question...but where do the rugby guys practice?!

check the thread in the sports section, just look for the people shouting at each other in english to run faster, drift, cover and large screams of 'touch'...

Make sure to get off at gieselstrase u bahn, unlike i did the first time!!!

Location is on the large field just south of the Seehaus Lake... and North of the Chinese Tower.

just a thought.
instead of us all bringing one or two bottles of augustiener, could somebody organise a crate and we pay that person for our consumption thereof ? ok it'll get warm, but that problem we're going to have anyway! maybe we should just pick up some beers from the china-tower and bring them over...

I've got a new crate of Augustiner at my place...I could take the UBahn to Giselastrasse pretty easily...but it'll be a pain dragging it down to the playing area. If someone could meet me at the Giselastrasse UBahn (i.e. Gideon) that would be perfect...My one shoulder is messed up...that's my excuse.

I am bringing a bottle of wine and some sangria, plus some brezn, blanket and candles. What a gorgeous day! Hoorah!

Looks like it's gonna rain, so a beergarden is probably not a good idea.

Some ideas from off the beaten path...

1) Atzinger (corner of Amalienstrasse and Schellingstrasse)..Nice place, haven't been there in awhile. löwenbräu, but has Guiness and Kilkenny on tap.
2) Unionbräu (on Max Weber Platz)..they brew their own beer. Can't be that bad.
3) The Arc
4) Scheidegger (Bauerstr. 16). Also nice place and serves Augustiner. Pretty full though.
5) Molly Malones (by Gasteig)...Does anybody ever go here..??

Molly Malones is good. Not been there for ages. It can get pretty busy during the night, so if there are a few of you going, it helps to book ahead.

and I vote for either Unionbräu (never been and would liek to try their own brewed beer!) or Molly Malones (great Fish n Chips).

Anywhere that does a cold beer, i can get to from rugby, (and is near u6 would be nice), only bn to the arc so im up for being adventurous!

So how aboot Molly Malones? It's not too far from where you live too, Petal. Either U5 (Max Weber Platz) or SBahn (Rosenheimer Platz).

You should hire those Sub Ether Radio guys...They're awesome. And I think they're still in Munich. The lead singer is from Texas...cool eh? They might do it for free? Maybe...

I wouldn't mind something different this week (i.e. Molly Malones), Foxy. And we (Jimbo, me, you) can hit the Arc for our nightcap...after Mollys and watch Canada totally destroy Finland in the gold medal game of the Ice Hockey World Cup.

I could be over-ruled pretty easily though...But, you're right we should support our own...just not every night.

Speak for yourself Canuck, I have only managed to make it to The Arc once so far! I hear that you even brought your couch down so that it would feel more like your living room. You got your pipe, slippers and smoking jacket down there yet?

To be honest, I dont mind where we go. Its going to one of my last ones and I havent been to Mollys yet so it would be cool to try some place new if thats the general consenus of opinion.

Like I said, Molly's is good, so make sure you book ahead. It can get really busy during the week and there isnt much in the way of standing room. In fact, there isnt any.

this is true, hadn't thought of that. 3 Lions, have you ever been to Unionbräu. IF so what is like for space, reserving tables etc?

Never heard of that place. But anywhere in Munich that brews its own beer must be worth a go!

If you want to sit outside, you'll have to get there early because they don't have many tables.

Unionbräu has a large cellar, though it might still be wise to reserve if going there coz it's popular

And Unionsbräu has this jazz band on at 8pm tomorrow.
Now I like this place but I am an old git who likes beer and likes jazz and the place is usually full of even older gits who like jazz even more than I do, so I'm not that convinced that it is a good venue for a TTMTues.
Having said that I'm not sure if I can make it anyway (but would be more likely to make it to the Arc if that helps?).

I don't want to choose really...I just gave many suggestions. 5 in particular. I think Foxy should choose this weeks location. Its up to her.

At the risk of being given a TT beating, I wouldnt mind going to The Arc. As I said I have only been once to support oor wee Hazza and feel I should get a couple of nights in before I leave this fair city.

Nobody is saying very much about it, so far we have Canuck who suggested The Arc amongst others, Graham who is keen on Mollys or the Unionsbrau, Katrina who favours The Arc, Jimbo who prefers The Arc (or anywhere in Schwabing ), DrivinWest - The Arc and me who suggested The Arc earlier.

Consensus of opinion for those that have one suggests The Arc, so I reckon thats where we should have it.

...Okay, let the barrage of abuse begin...I'll take you all on!
