JoolyBooly
not that you read that article, or know which bar was mentioned... laugh.gif
Jimbo
No, but if I did like...
UrbanAngel
@Jimbo I went to the 8 seasons once. i also thought it was a silly name, but on their flyer it explains why.. they are only open for 2 years (hence the 8 seasons) and then they are closing. apparently. if i remember correctly.
Toronto
8 seasons has a lot of hot bartenders...but from what I recall...most of them are male. If you want to see playboy models had fun...then they are there on "Bulb Club" nites, which is a mix night of straights and gays.
pootle
Guys,

I cant make it this week. Does someone want to suggest a good central location which is also good for wet weather? (unless you wanna try building some beer garden shelters)

Location should be suitable for people at arrive anytime between 1800 - 2100.

To give the place as much publicity as it needs in the first couple of months, I suggest The Arc.

Plus they serve Augustiner, which is always good.
Showem
I'll second The Arc. But please, somebody make sure I leave before 5:30am this time.
Foxy
I will third it! Jimbo and I missed out on the weekends shennanigans unfortunately so are keen to get down there and offer our support. Sounds like we missed a really cool weekend. Well done Harry, glad to see you survived your first weekend without too many hiccups!

Quick question...will there be food on tomorrow?
pepper
Sorry I am in Hamburg on Tuesday and Wednesday so will have to miss it, but someone have a drink or two for me !
margret
The Arc, sounds good.
What time?
bubblylady
They open at 6 smile.gif
Burgers, chips, hot dogs, salad, etc... will be served
canuck
@showem: I'll remind you around 4am this time that it's time to leave. No problem!! And this time, don't chug my double Havana Club and coke!!

I'll be there right after practice..or as soon as I get a bit thirsty!!
Showem
Hey, you invited me to drink it! Nearly forced it down my neck! artistic license in use
chewy
As ive decided to not set any alarms this week, I'll be there for a 'light' refreshment post rugby. If i dont get to work till lunchtime so be it!!!
butterbean
hmm. what's the mini-pup policy of The Arc?
bubblylady
Mini Pup's have to be cuddled at all times!
I'll be there to fulfill this duty smile.gif Looks like my boss is out of town biggrin.gif

QUOTE
what's the mini-pup policy of The Arc?

He'll be fine as long as Harry doesnt run out of chicken wings tongue.gif
butterbean
@3L - what, the British-style chili (cough) isn't a permanent menu item??? wink.gif

probably more meat on a chicken wing than on the mini-pup I'm afraid...

@BL - excellent! I believe the mini-pup will approve of this policy. smile.gif
Hazza
Mini-pup's fine...although health regulations prevent him from entering the kitchen.

Foxy
Booooo, me is ill again. Feel like I am swallowing razor blades just now, and head is starting to disassociate itself from the rest of me. Not sure if I will be able to come tonight now afterall - jammies, hot water bottle and bed required. Bloody sickness...grrr...its rubbish.
Showem
I'm sure they could whip you up a hot toddy to drink Foxy!

Well, actually, it might be a challenge, but you could tell them how.
Hazza
Yes - we'll give it a go!!
thejarvii
I should be by for a drink and some good American Football!
Jimbo
I, like my missus, am probably too ill - I might make it for one, but its not looking, or for that matter feeling, too good right now.
pootle
ok,

Weather doesnt look too hot for tomorrow night. I want to go watch the ice hockey in the arc, but will turn up whever everybody else goes later I guess. Anyone who wants an education in ice hockey, is welcome to join me wink.gif

P
JoolyBooly
So are we meeting at the Arc? I've lost the plot...
chewy
The Arc's easy, and that way more pootle doesn't have to move!!
JoolyBooly
yeah but (no offence to Hazza and I rrereeeeeeeeaaaaalllly enjoyed saturday night) I'm not keen on getting "stuck" in one place, although apparently the TT tuesday has always been in GM's in winter until now...
Doesn't matter to me though, the Arc is easy enough to reach and we can all show off our freshly procured Dirndls rolleyes.gif
chewy
Anyone else have a suggestion, i know mw and jooly arent the only alcholics!!
pootle
The Arc suits me fine wink.gif and the weather is pretty poor...

P
Hazza
@ Jooly

No offense taken.

I wouldn't expect everyone to want to hang out in the same bar all the time anyway.

We need to be able to survive and attract people outside of TT in any case - but of course it's nice to have you guys come along...
nilpferd
Hi, I'm a newbieish in that been on website for a few months but never been to an event as yet, reckon I'm feeling brave enough now...what time do things usually get going on a Tuesday night?
JoolyBooly
oh, by 8 there'll be a few people propping up the bar (usually 5-10), by 9 you're guaranteed action! (usually 10-20)
nilpferd
thanks, will see you there...shall i carry a red rose or sth!? tongue.gif
JoolyBooly
nah, in the Arc it is pretty clear who we are, it's not a big place and we're a big, noisy bunch (and the man who owns the bar is one of us!).. you'd have to try hard to miss us...
although looking at your details your nearest city is Paris?! In which case you could indeed have trouble finding us... tongue.gif
nilpferd
oops! not changed that for a while! I am of course in Munich, so hopefully even my navigational skills should get me there in one piece!! looking forward to meeting you all
biggrin.gif
gideon
so i guess were all meeting pootle at the arc tonight then?
VDB
might stop by the Arc then sometime this evening...
billybob
l will pop along too. Not been since the opening night - is the temparature there ok now? can someone let me know since l'll pass if it's still hot, ta
butterbean
may drop in too. temp was mmuuuchh better Sat night than opening.
DrivinWest
Just got in from Texas. If I can fight off the jetlag I'l be there.
canuck
Temp is perfect now...unless 5000 people show up. Harry's got it under control with the new fans...sweet!
sparty
Now he has to get the people under control who throw beermats all over the place! tongue.gif

Shaggy
less messy than a foodfight!
petal
Ok, so some of us girlies are going dirndl shopping tonight, so will pop to the arc afterwards. Prob be there 7:30pm onwards or so.
Heinrich
@Jooly

Shall take your advice regarding last Thursday and venture into the Arc for a more intimate swift one this evening...
JoolyBooly
cool! will see you there, but don't get scared if we're all sitting there in german national dress!!! laugh.gif

BYOB - Picnic in Garden?

What do you folks say to planning a candlelight picnic for next Tuesday's drinks evening? We can meet where the rugby practices and drop blankets and BYOB (wine bottles, beer, vodka citron for steve...). Then, I'll lead a 10k training run north and back down the English garden (for those doing the 10k Sept. 12) and the rugby folks can practice. Around 8 or so, we can set up camp near the lake and have a picnic.

If it rains or is too cold, we can go to old standby GM.

Any takers?
Shaggy
Great Idea!

I second the motion... long range weather looks dry but overcast.
gideon
excelent idea!!!
we can all be sweaty together and nobody can complain!
