I can't bring myself to use Crisco or hydrogenated Vegetable Shortening when making pie crust. In the States a few organic companies have developed some non-hydrogenated veg. shortening. Does anyone know if this is available here? I am heading to Basic today to look but wanted to first check with the Toytown crew.

Just use butter! I prefer a butter crust to a crisco crust anyways. Chemicals...bleh.
If you really want to get decadent, you could use lard. Lard makes the best crusts...
