I'm thinking of selling our wohnung and buying another place. I'd like to hear your experiences/advice wrt the transition period between the two.

In the UK, you have "The Chain", where everyone stays put until they all have found their new place/found a buyer for the old place.

What is the method in Germany? Do you sell up then move into a rental or sit tight until ready to move directly into the new place?
